Nature & Parks

Community park with a lake for fishing, hiking trails, picnic areas & a refurbished stamp mill.

The waterfall to the left is my favorite spot. I like to run/hike the trails then finish with a short gratitude meditation on the platform that overlooks the waterfall. You can fish also. Which I noticed the Catfish are a good size!

Was on vacation. I came here with an old friend to avoid boredom. This was a very nice park. Definitely recommend a visit

Gage Cassey (NiaTheOne) — Google review

Autumn is an especially beautiful time of year at this park. Lots of people enjoying the nice weather and gorgeous views. There are several trails to explore all around the lake and many people were out catching fish. Looking forward to seeing the Valley of Lights here over the holidays.

Stephanie Greer — Google review

Went to Fain Park to take our family photos and the place was beautiful. The park has water, rocks, mountains, a nice wooden bridge, and everything you would need for scenic photos. They also host the Valley of Lights in the winter from 6-9pm and the little ones enjoyed it!

This is a great place for events. Though we never lived in Prescott Valley two of my stepsons were married at this location. My daughter just had her gender reveal here, and my other daughter had her high school senior portraits shot here. Great views and scenery. Not much for kids to do.

Dannette Wygal — Google review

One of the most adorable and pet friendly parks we've ever visited. The grounds are (pretty) well kept up and my six year old granddaughter begs to come back almost everyday!!

Shannon Davis — Google review

Very nice small park. I went to the observation deck which had nice biew of the water area. I notice some people fishing. I asked if they caught anything..No but they were enjoying it. Lots of green grass.

Cat P. — Google review

The peaceful, quiet place. Nice place to bring your kids and some fishing poles. The only thing I've caught are bluegills ! But I'm sure there's more. Have fun and enjoy !

Went to the walk thru the valley of the lights. For me those walk signifies the beginning of the Christmas season, as always was good fun, and very enjoyable!Except, for the Lady at beginning of the hike who tried to ruin for a couple of friends and I, we just ignored her and went about it evening!A good time was had by all

Deniece Wooldridge — Google review

A lot of mosquitoes! You can obviously see garbages in the pond. A nice neighborhood park with decent view from the beautiful rocks, blue sky and green grass and water IF you had insect repellent on hand.

Ben D — Google review

This park is amazing! I was so surprised at all the little points of interest & we didn't even explore much past the bridge. I imagine the trails are beautiful!I definitely wanna come back here again & spend a lot more time exploring. You are so lucky if you live here & have regular access to this gorgeous park!Cute little waterfall across the 'lake. Couldn't tell if it was man-made or natural but either way, pretty. The view when approaching the park is picturesque at the top of the hill.Definitely recommend for exploring, can't wait to check it out again. If you enjoyed this review or found it helpful, PLEASE, give it a LIKE!

So beautiful. My wife and I had the best time. Shame about the old signs on the mining equipment . Be nice if the city or county for little money into that and get that kind of straightened up and looking nice.

What a treat this one of a kind gem was to play. Not for the faint hearted, but if you hit it straight you will be rewarded. Beautiful views everywhere, I feel like we had a jeep tour included with the course design that takes you thru some amazing sights as you wind your way around the mountain.. Being from the NW it was awesome to get to a place with this type of design, Greens were challenging and true. Obvious care goes into maintaining the gorgeous fairways and bunkers. See you next year !!!

Howard Wheatley — Google review

Awesome course especially for the price. Tough to score first time around because trouble everywhere but after you see it you’ll know how to attack next time. LOTS of elevation changes that will keep your brain calculating distances often. Will play again next time through. Great staff and the turkey BLT for lunch was fantastic!

Dave McKinney — Google review

Played yesterday October 4, 2020. The course is in great shape and it was a blast. Varying elevations and scenic views from all around the course. Rock outcropping and beautiful high desert scenery. We saw all sorts of wildlife from woodpecker and various birds to large buck mule deer. The greens are fast and true. We took advantage of a $20 replay rate and will be back in a few weeks. I highly recommend this challenging course. Almost forgot to mention the chicken club sandwich is amazing!

Andrew Texidor Arizona Realtor — Google review

Fantastic course in amazing condition. However, 4 stars for the price, as it has become ridiculous. This is target golf, and unless you're a scratch golfer - I suggest you bring plenty of balls. Greens and fairways are nice. Rough is just that, rough. Plenty of nature out there.

Nick H. — Google review

I played this in late January so pictures don’t do this mountain/desert course justice. With that said a very playable course from the White tees (plays close to 6,300 yards). Tips (Black tees) play close to 7,100 yards it said on the scorecard, I wanted to enjoy the course for my first time playing it and did enjoy playing from the White tees. Great deal if you play that course during the winter ($48, when I did). Would love to play it again during warmer temps and grown-in conditions. Also side-note, same course designer as TPC-Scottsdale Champions Course.

Nicholas Bauer — Google review

Always a challenge. The layout will get your mind out of the proverbial box. Visually stunning, intimidating and misleading. Sometimes even a very good shot will have you digging in your bag. Greens are fabulous and tricky as well. Bring your A game, patience, forgiveness and a couple extra sleeves of balls. If your ego gets the better of you and your index is higher than a 10 or so, do yourself and everyone behind you a favor and play the Whites (Green tees if it's your first time). It takes more than a couple of times to score well here.

Herbert Wohlf — Google review

Visited here and had a great time! I played here in the beginning of March 2023 so, the grass had gone dormant and the course was still in good shape. Still would like to play it in mid April or May. I'm from MN so, anything other than snow and ice on the ground was awesome. If you are a novice golfer, make sure to stock up on balls before you play. This course is extremely fun but, not very forgiving for golfers with bad hooks, duffed drives, and slices. Many areas that you will not retrieve your ball. Still, I feel it gives you very fair play along with the challenge. Club house staff was very friendly, price was great and, the property is well kept. The day I was there was fairly busy so, I teed off with two other gentlemen and had a blast playing with them. I would 100% recommend playing here as it made my golf weekend trip worth it!

Mitch Oster — Google review

Stunning scenery, pick the correct tee box as it's definitely a challenge, especially so if there's some wind. Great course to test all parts of your game! Bucket list type of course you really should play at least once. Had a great time!

Movie theater

Concerts & Shows

Theaters

Modern multiplex chain showing blockbusters & a few independent films; some venues offer childcare.

The seats are extremely comfortable. The video and sound was great and so was the popcorn! In this age of streaming everything online, why go out to see a movie? Our friends, who are regular movie goers talked us in to going with them.It was actually a lot of fun! There are several good restaurants, stores and other attractions within walking distance from the theater. We stopped off at Colt BBQ grill for dinner prior to walking over there.

Jim (JIMMY MACk) — Google review

The staff were really nice. The theater was very contemporary. They had a lot of new staff being trained, but they were very friendly and efficient. You can tell the management knows what they are doing. The seats were in excellent shape and the floors were clean.

Kerry H — Google review

It had been a good two years since I had gotten a movie date night with my wife! Harkins did not disappoint in the least! Delicious popcorn! co*ke! Candy! All for under $35! Thank you for always being dependable couldn’t have been better! Well other then the dorks talking during the movie and half the audience shushing them!

Nick Peterson — Google review

Nice movie theater. Afternoon matinees for senior citizens only $5 bucks a ticket! Good popcorn, clean, and friendly staff! We have gone here several times and will continue to go to movies here.

Henry Fietzek — Google review

All the young employees are super friendly and try to be happy, despite the reputation of the manager Ms Mitchell. As a result, I constantly see new faces there since they have such a high turnaround rate. My daughter knows first hand how bad of an experience it can be to work there. Just HANG IN THERE guys! Keep doing a great job and maybe things will change in the future.

Sean Burke - breaks / house — Google review

I wish they had reclining seats like Picture Show in Prescott does BUT... in all honesty, this is my favorite theater. LOVE Tuesday classic movies and the service here is always so great. Attendants are friendly and helpful, service is prompt even on busy days/evenings, these folks handle it very well. Thanks for a always pleasant theater experience for myself, friends and family ❤️

Cathryn Faith — Google review

We're spoiled! Our local theater has roomy seats that recline, and have heated seats. There is also plenty of leg room. This theater is old school with the regular theater seats. However, this theater was spotless, and everyone was super nice, polite and helpful. We got a good deal with a combo order from the concession, which included two large drinks, one large popcorn, and our choice of a package of candy. Loved it! Hopefully, they will remodel before our next visit🙂

Veronica — Google review

Our time was enjoyed to say the least. It's just felt incredibly structured. It was like buy your ticket get your screen. Which is not necessarily horrible but with four kids it just felt like there was no room for laughing or playing around on the way two are showing

Amanda Kneeves — Google review

It's fine. Really in need of a more modern update. That's not the staffs fault obviously. But Harkins is a fine choice if you don't want to drive out to the theater by target

ursula nesbitt — Google review

Beautiful theater complex. The tickets are reasonably priced. However we still tend to go to the Frontier Village in Prescott since the seats are comfortable recliners and the tickets are $3 cheaper there.

Sue Rossi — Google review

The only thing I would add in this theater is reclining seats. This theater is VERY clean. The staff is always polite. The movies are not shown at extremely loud volumes like other theaters. It is fairly accesible for wheelchair for the width of doors and places in the theater to park. However, the theater is located in a mountainous area, so the fairway to each individual theater and into the theater itself can feel like quite a slope. The bathroom has some maneuver issues. It would be best to use an electric wheelchair and come with a family/friend who can assist you when needed.

Museum

Gold King Mine & Ghost Town is a fascinating abandoned town in Jerome that offers visitors a glimpse into the past. The site features dilapidated buildings, an old mine, and an extensive collection of vintage automobiles and trucks. It's full of history, allowing visitors to experience what life was like in the area years ago. For just $22 for two people, it’s incredibly affordable compared to other attractions in the area. The working mill and car graveyard are both curious sights worth exploring.

Everything is more than amazing. Jerome is full of histroy especially this place. You can understand and see what they lived in the past . We paid about 22 dollars for 2 peoples . It's so cheap compare with everything . I highly recommend anyone who come to Jerome. Please visit this place. It's super cool.

TJ Jira — Google review

It was a fun place to wander around in.Id say go early because the parking lot was almost full when I got there mid day. There is a shuttle though if you have to park in the lower lot. I mined for the gold and gems it was fun and Jay was very knowledgeable about the mine itself. All in all a fun little place to spend some time. And the drive up was beautiful!!

Katie Frey — Google review

The staffs are friendly and informative. The place is full of vintage/antique vehicles and tools. They have chicken everywhere. There is a potbelly and three goats. They are well fed and cute. It’s a small little spot to learn about this little town but it’s fun. I highly recommend to come during the winter so it won’t be so hot.

An Nguyen — Google review

This place was awesome to visit. Everyone was super friendly and the ghost town and unique antiques were so interesting. Very cool seeing a working sawmill and blacksmith's shop. The petting zoo was very cute. Highly recommend.

Caroline O — Google review

My kids had an absolute incredible time. The atmosphere is so laid back and easy-going. My 3 kids (7,9,11) did gem panning and found arrowheads and sharks teeth among other various pretty gemstones and of course every kid's favorite fool's gold (pyrite). The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful/kind, Milo the greeter cat is purrrrfectly suited for the job too!Truly a welcome little break from our daily routine! Make sure to inquire about the outhouse, this was a great and fitting legend with spooky possibilities! My curious 7 year old wanted to test the legend and was so shocked at what he discovered, this was a moment I will look back at with great joy in the future.

Ash — Google review

Me and my sister spend the weekend in Jerome. We knew ahead of time that we wanted to go to the Gold King Mine & Ghost Town. We were not disappointed. We panned for gold, gems and broke apart our own geode. We were able to feed donkeys, turkeys, bunnies, all kinds of animals. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the visit so much. The gift shop was full of so many cool things that we took nearly an hour just to look thru everything. I would recommended this stop on the Jerome tour as a MUST DO. Cody in the gold panning portion was very informative, helpful and patient.

Pamela S. — Google review

This was my second visit to Jerome but my first time visiting the ghost town and man I am glad I went this time. Many cool old vehicles, old buildings with lots of cool things inside, gold and gem panning, cute animals around like chickens, pigs etc. fun gift shop. Great place for kids and adults alike. The staff are very friendly. I had no idea how much fun I would have going. I highly recommend a visit.

Andrew Ellis — Google review

Curious working mill and car graveyard. The people were super friendly and the gift shop has some cool items. The car graveyard is the best part with some older models that have rusted into works of art. Overall a great way to spend an hour.

Darin Nance — Google review

Great place to see while in Jerome. Off the beaten path but portrays the life of a miner of the time. Great show and tell, lots of tools and old vehicles and mining equipment. Highly recommend. Only $7 to enter. Above 80 or below 6 are free.

Cloudy Cowboy — Google review

Had been curious about this place for a while, so decided to make the trek up to Jerome and check it out. It's carpenter bee heaven! Many old shacks with dusty displays inside, not all from the local area. Large junkyard with some interesting, rusty vehicles and heavy equipment. Working sawmill, requisite mine shaft, and a few farm animals. Cool place to take photos.

Alisa Sever — Google review

My son is 7 and he did not want to come here. However, after panning for gems, seeing all the old cars, trucks and machinery, feeding the goats and chickens, he declared he was very glad we had come. I enjoyed it as well. I know my 78 year old father would have enjoyed all the old trucks and cars as well.

Chandra Foryst — Google review

Great history sets here. Fun times and definitely talk to some people taking care of the place so you can learn about Jerome.

J W — Google review

Yes, it is a tourist trap as the entire town of Jerome. It's nice if you don't expect much. $13/person to enter (July'23) but extra $18 for gold panning or $12 for gem panning. An overpriced souvenir shop and blacksmith items.

Pavel F — Google review

Wonderful experience. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and so much fun. My family spent almost 4 hours playing with the animals and exploring. The place is huge. So much history. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Amanda Kimberly — Google review

They used to mine here, collections of old mining equipment from large to small. If you like being around equipment and farm animals, this place is for you! The drive up the mountain takes you through the town of Jerome.. cute but we didn’t stop there. We did the $38 special and got to sift for gems, learned how to pan for gold, cracked a geode open and fed the animals. The family that runs this is super friendly and helpful.

Becky Bogdan — Google review

It's not a real western ghost town in the traditional sense. But the spirit, its owner, and founder is everywhere around you. He collected pieces and staged them in ways that give you a deep look into our not to distant past. To see the ingenious use of wood, steel, gears, and combustion is a really wonderful testimonial to our capacity to create. It's worth the $12 . And the turkeys are really cool.

Michael Kapoustin — Google review

I highly recommend the full package you get so much for the price it's such a cool attraction there's animals to feed gold and jems to pan and you can crush geodes and on top of that there's so many old vehicles and technology we spent a big chunk of our day here for the average person it'll be about 2 hours but if your like us you can spend way more time looking at everything shirl helped us with our planning and she was so kind and I learned so much from her thank you guys so much

Liam Is master — Google review

Fun Family Visit! We brought our 3 kids to check out the mine and ghost town and overall, I'd say it was a nice activity to add to our weekend trip. I'd personally love to see a handout available that has a little history lesson and facts etc you can read to kids as you go through. All the old cars were cool and my husband definitely enjoyed checking them out! We didn't do any add ons, so it only took us about 1.5 to walk through checking everything out.

Dorothy Fetter — Google review

Fun place to visit with families. Besides walking around and exploring the mine. There are some activities like feed the animals, crush geode or gold panning.

State park

Sights & Landmarks

Jerome State Historic Park is a beautiful park featuring an old mansion that now houses a mining museum. The park boasts several outdoor displays and a picnic area for visitors to enjoy. It provides an in-depth history of Jerome and the mining industry in the area, with informative videos and two floors of exhibits. However, children may find it less engaging than adults due to its historical focus. The drive to the park can be winding but offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

What a wonderful place! If you like learning about small town history this is a must. There is a fee to enter of $7 per adult (military discount is excepted).Children would get bored.Just getting here is one heck of a windy drive.

Misty Black — Google review

I enjoyed my visit to Jerome St. Hist. Park. The Douglas Mansion and the extensive museum were great. I also liked the Geology expert that was on site. He was able to provide a lot of insight on the mining exhibits.

Raymond Ellis — Google review

It is a very historic place near Prescott, AZ. The town is perched on a hillside with many interesting museums, stores, restaurants, and bars.

Very thorough history of Jerome and the mining done in the area. Informative video and two floors of exhibits plus outdoor gardens. Spectacular views.

Lots of fun in the hole town! All different local stores unlike anywhere else.. Food is great Kaleidoscope outstanding.& MUCH MORE! The Mining ⛏ museum was great.. It’s entertaining place and historic.😃

Brenda Bennett — Google review

Jerome unfortunately has turned into a tourist trap, where once it was a quaint small town to enjoy the many amenities now everything is way over priced but if you dont mind paying $18 for a burger or just bring a picnic theres a lot to see here and enjoy, walk around and explore.

Sonster B — Google review

Lots of information at this location. The museum is two stories and full of history, pictures and displays of all sorts. Very well organized and put together. Enjoyed this very much with my mother on our road trip.

The history of Jerome is stored at Jerome State Historic Park. The ticket is around $7 to get in. The museum has a lot of pictures, rocks, and historic machines and tools. The view from the parking lot is beautiful. It’s perfect for a day visit. I have been here in summer, and it was hot. I heard it would be beautiful in the winter time so I will definitely try to be here during the winter time.

Jerome is awesome. If in the Sedona area, do yourself a favor and make a trip to jerome for a day or an overnight trip. Love this place so much

This beautiful old home turned museum is a great step back in time to when this town was flourishing. The amount of artifacts greatly help give a since of how hard the times were. Highly recommend next time your in Jerome.

Cloudy Cowboy — Google review

We enjoyed touring the old mining history. They had this amazing trolley car I had to capture the story along with the beauty in the green grass and trees peaking through. The flowers were so gorgeous!

Mark Siedler — Google review

We went to the Douglas Mansion before we left Jerome altogether and I'm so glad we made this visit. We've been coming to Jerome for years and never visited this park area. So thankful we did. There's a video you watch about Jerome and it's history, most things you don't learn even from the locals. The mansion is in great shape and a lot of originals remain. It's definitely worth the few bucks per person to go in!!! Enjoy!!!

Manda Marlene — Google review

I love looking at historical homes with original architecture and furnishings. This mansion has original blueprints on display and you can wander through many of the original rooms. I loved the windows, the views, the original icebox, kitchen, fireplaces, and servants quarters. There have been a few changes but overall intact. We made a quick stop in Jerome and we definitely want to go back for more sightseeing. The guys working in the museum were very friendly.

Katie Owles — Google review

Jerome is a ghost town, don’t worry about online pictures come and see yourself and explore the energy, especially if you have never seen a miners town. It’s really spooky if you visit in a rainy day in winter in clouds! Maybe museum is not very interesting but experience is. Remember it’s not the destination but the journey.

Pe Lin (Cilibluebird) — Google review

This was the second time that we went to Jerome it's a bit of a quirky, artsy little town. Lots of interesting little shops. The history is quite fascinating.

Wildlife park

Zoos & Aquariums

Out of Africa Wildlife Park is a must-visit place that provides immersive safarilike experiences with wild animals and daily presentations by knowledgeable keepers. The park ensures the well-being of its animals, making it an ideal destination for both locals and tourists. However, visitors should be aware that the weather can get very cold at times, especially after rain or snow storms. It is advisable to come prepared with warm clothing and accessories such as gloves and hats.

I loved this place, I came here for the first time on a Friday morning to avoid all the traffic and people coming on a weekend. The staff is super nice and our tour guide Jane was so adorable, we loved her corny jokes she did an amazing job. We did the supermog tour, it is very educational and the animals are shown up close as they talk about how they came to be at the park and interesting facts about them. The animals are VERY well taken care of. The enclosures are huge and they are loved so much I’m glad they are able to keep them so happy and educate people about wildlife. With everything you see in the news it’s always nice to see the babies here so happy. I wish all zoos and wildlife parks were like this towards these beautiful creatures. The owners are very involved in the park and I admire that very much because the park itself has been open for such a long time, it’s amazing they can keep up and take in so many animals after all these years. I love the schedule the park arranged. The tours are followed by shows in between certain times so it gives you enough to grab a quick bite and get a good seat. (Food is limited, wish there was more but I would’ve spent a ton of money so not a big deal because at least the food they had was good!) I’m glad I came here, it was for my anniversary and my husband and I enjoyed every part!

Kelly Bare — Google review

Great wildlife and safari experience! This self-guided excursion is wonderful and much better than a zoo trip. The animals are extremely close and active, and the keepers are fantastic with both the animals and the visitors. If you have time and can plan it right, make sure you do the safari tour! We had the chance to see nearly all the animals on the reserve and the option to feed the giraffes!!For those that are less mobile, there is a 4 shuttle stations throughout the loop that have trams every 20 minutes or so.Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The price may seem like a deterrent, but our experience was far more engaging and animal interactive than any we’ve had while visiting zoos.

Carl Miller — Google review

Love this place. My daughter and I did the Expedition Passport at 11:00am. It was worth every penny!!! The SuperMog takes you to places in the park you cannot access without the tour. If you’re in the area and looking for something fun this is it! Two places to ear and the staff is super friendly.

Christine Seibert — Google review

I visited this park twice before years ago, and was looking forward to visiting again when I had a weekend in Arizona. It’s even better than I remembered! Their animals are beautiful and so active! We loved aWatching a full grown tiger chasing pool toys and leaping into the pool in tiger splash. The staff and volunteers clearly love the animals and want you to have the best experience! If you can, I recommend taking the VIP tour, which is a great value for all the up close experiences and stories we heard from our guide.

Chris Evans — Google review

This is a private zoo experience. You will have the opportunity to view magnificent animals closer than ever before. More than once I thought 💭- “how tall is that fence?” & I have a fairly “zoo’s are antiquated” viewpoint. I could tell the animals are very well cared for and served as excellent ambassadors.Educational signs and updated facilities are not prevalent.I felt like I definitely got my enjoyment out of the price of admission. If I could make suggestions to the park that would be greatly appreciated it would be *MORE food & vendors* The pizza was gone before a single Tiger 🐅splash 💦 ! Invest in some churro & pretzel carts and I think you will see a positive cash flow very quickly!!! Seriously I was starving!*We paid extra for a short zip line experience. It was a splurge, but we had a great time!

This place is absolutely AMAZING!! My family and I (3 kids 10 and under) came and did the safari and the feeding of the tigers. The animals came right up to the vehicle! It was amazing to see. The staff were all extremely friendly and funny. Best family friendly experience we’ve ever had. We will definitely be back!!!

Alicia Belis — Google review

Definitely a place to go check out.A but pricey, but I'm sure that feeding all these animals is not cheap at all.Contrary to the Phoenix zoo, you can actually see the animals and be really close to them and still be safe.We rode the bus up the hill, and walked back, and it was worth doing. It's not a long walk even for kids.A great day, although the weather sucked for a little bit.

jerome ringland — Google review

I am only giving this place a 3 star rating because of the tiger splash! Without the tigersplash show, i would have rated this place 1 star! This place is very overpriced for what you get. Many exhibits have no animals in it at all or the weeds are too high to see anything in the living spaces!Tiger splash was fun to watch though!

Shannon Dale — Google review

Our daughter had a great time at the park. It was a hot Arizona day. So be prepared for that. But they do have a cafe with cold fountain drinks and misters. It was really cool to see tigers, although they are not African animals. Haha. They had an interesting show in which the tigers would chase inflatable toys into a pool. It sort of neat to see them jump and splash. They also had a safari tour which was fine and you get to feed giraffes. They come right up to the side of the shuttle bus. I recommend this for anyone visiting this area.

Ryan Gable — Google review

I had an amazing time yesterday! The animals seem well taken care of and you can tell the workers love what they do. I love that general admission includes an African Bush Safari - a 20 minute ride to see giraffes, zebras, and more! I highly recommend this place. I appreciate the option to use a shuttle if you don’t want to walk around everywhere.

Gail Colombo — Google review

This is definitely a place to visit. If you're a local or visitor. The animals are well kept and looked after. We had just visited and our only thing was it was bitterly cold. But this was after the rain and snow storm that passed. The Temps were down in the mid 30's. Be prepared if you're going out in the colder weather. I would definitely recommend having a pair of gloves and hat. The gift shop is awesome. We loved it so much we became members. We're looking forward to going back and seeing the animals and the people that take great care of them.

Robert Herrera — Google review

A truly wonderful place. Well worth the trip. Not so crowded which was nice, able to see the animals up close. They really are majestic. The handlers seem to really love their job. Animals well cared for. Great experience all around. A must see.

Great place to stop! Visited here a year and half ago and it was well worth putting on the "things to do"" list during a trip to Sedona. The vehicle tours are worth the additional expense and it is pretty neat to go through one area of the park called the Serengeti Preserve. It feels like you are on a real African safari which I have been to in the preserves and parks of Nairobi years ago. Nice to the animals up close and in a natural habitat. Taking a self walking tour around the park is well worth it also. Animals appear to be well taken care of and the park is very clean. A wonderful educational experience learning about the animals and how the environment is impacted when a species is on the endangered list. The park can be open at times based on weather conditions, it is good to call and check before going as storms in this area during all seasons come up quick. The dirt road to the entrance can be a bit rough after a storm, so be prepared for that. Guides and staff are very knowledgeable about the animals. There is also a zip line experience. Zip lining across a wildlife park, how cool is that? Awesome!!!

Live Free and Play Hard — Google review

Cool place lots of fun. Good amount of parking, lots of animals, and animal enclosures are made so you can walk all the way around and get a better angle (they are like several acres sometimes so it might be a bit of a walk) zip lines are fun. Because it isn't as big a zoo, it is more intimate but also can't be quite as nice. (Mostly gravel paths, only like 2 places to eat, ect) still good.

Gabriel Morton — Google review

The animal facilities were great. All the animals "looked happy & healthy". The staff really cared about what they were doing with the animals & the visitors. You can walk or ride. For sure, take the safari tour. Really up close & personal. Ranger was the best guide. Steve made a wonderful presentation on lizards. Dae at the gate was welcoming & helpful. Food tasted good & reasonable priced. Private donations, no government grants or oversite. We suggest you have lunch there, make a donation & tip well.

Amazing place to experience wildlife in Arizona. I have seen wildlife in several zoos but this is totally amazing and different.I was able to see tigers and lions from a 3 feet distance. They are in natural habitat. Mostly these are recovered. They have few endangered species as well. Don't ask me why they have water buffalos i. Wild life.

pavan kumar — Google review

Good stop between Phoenix and Sedona. Nice experience. Disappointed with the variety of animals they have. Best part was the Safari tour… you definitely need a minimum of 3 hours to explore.

Pa Shai Yang — Google review

Such a cool place! I don't know what I expected going in but it exceeded all of my expectations! In my opinion it's better than the zoo. All of the employees were kind, knowledgeable, and approachable. The animals are well-cared for and treated with love and respect. Lots of family memories made! Highly recommend the safari. Shout out to our bus driver Gary Montana for giving my son a wolf mask on our last bus ride, it made his day!

Holly Lifsey — Google review

Best experience for big cats ever! Animals are well cared for and the human/ cat interaction is phenomenal! Be prepared to spend the whole day as there is soo much to see and experience. Definitely recommend the VIP tour

Margaret Borski — Google review

I wish we were able to stay longer! I've never been able to get this close to animals before. They seemed extremely healthy and well cared for. The tigers splash was an amazing show and it was all done with happy positive things for the tiger! We will definitely be coming back to do the zip line.

🦁We are an Annual Passholder Family🐅(Just renewed!)Aulani in the gift shop is always so super sweet. She welcomes us with Hello/Bye Family (AP)!The entire staff is great and very knowledgeable about all the animals. It's a joy getting to know them all. We love feeding time, and we love to visit "Apache" (a scarlet macaw). Come say hello! We were happy to get him a Xmas gift, and we can't wait until he gets it!See you all soon, family! 🙋🏽‍♀️

Visited this place and had a fantastic experience feeding Temba the Giraffe. Took my 4yr old and 3yr old plus 4 month baby. In my personal opinion, I don’t believe the childrens ticket is worth the price. I would better recommend the world wildlife zoo which has more facilities and entertainment for toddlers. Having said that, it was still a wonderfully insightful experience. I felt the reptile dark tunnel place had too much condensation, so it wasn’t clear enough to see the Boa’s, pythons etc. Additionally, the shows we caught included the creature feature and Tiger Splash.

Z A — Google review

I have lived close to Out of Africa for several years and went for my first time. It is amazing! The number of large Cats, Lions and Tigers is awesome! You don't have to struggle to find them there are several enclosures with both. The rest of the animals are fantastic as well. We got a family pass and will be going again very soon!

Old Town Cottonwood is a charming shopping district in Arizona with historic art galleries, shops, and cafes. Unlike other downtown areas that feel lifeless, Old Town Cottonwood has a lively atmosphere and is known for its wine-centric focus. The town offers a variety of coffee shops, bars, gift shops, and restaurants that cater to all interests. Additionally, the city hall's Christmas light display set to music reflects the amazing energy flowing through this small town.

Old town cottonwood a sweet travel back in time . Little shops with personality along this historic Main Street. Wine tasting from many Arizona wineries. Gift shops and galleries. Dining choice . walkable .

Love the visit love that has a lot of restaurants but also has a lot of breweries and wine tasting if that's your thing. Was a little disappointed that the thrift store that I wish to go was selling lot of its merchandise to close down. But still a beautiful place to go see and look it's only 20 minutes away from Jerome and has more eatery if you are hungry and do not want to wait hours to eat at Jerome and it's just down the road

Anita Brooks — Google review

This is one of my favorite downtown areas in Arizona. It's definitely right up there with Downtown Prescott whiskey row. It's more wine-centric than Prescott I think. It's got a great liveliness to it. Doesn't feel like a downtown that's dying like Flagstaff. Cottonwood's downtown has lots of personality, great coffee shops and bars, and gifts shops, and restaurants. I got to see their Christmas light display on their city hall, and it was a bunch of amazing lights set to music. Great job this year!

The heart of Arizona Wine Country! We love it up here. We've stayed at multiple quaint little rentals walking distance from Old Town. It's become our home away from home and would recommend it for families and wine lovers alike.

I love old Town. I grew up here. It has lots of great dining, shopping, wine tasting, hotels, there is a beautiful trail that takes you to the river. The only downside is parking and it can be very crowded. Long waits sometimes to get into the restaurants.

A great little town a really fun experience it'd be nice if more our businesses labeled if they allowed dogs inside because it's very dog friendly otherwise because of the setting and the walkability

Many new places to eat, wine tasting places, shopping. Can park at one end on the street and walk the length of old town cottonwood. Parking is limited to parallel parking along the street and it's first come first serve. Really enjoyed spending the day- day trip from Phoenix.

Amazing little town ... lots of antiques stores and perfect for gifts ... energy flowing is amazing ... good and hard working people make this town a must stop place on your trip!

I actually really enjoy Old Town. It's a small strip (maybe 0.5 mile) with quite a lot of wine tasting rooms, good food spots, craft kitchens, brewery, bars, etc. Free parking, walkable. Oftentimes live music at multiple spots. My only beef is everything closes super early, many tasting rooms close by 6 or 7pm. Places open "late" usually close by 9 or 10pm. There are some real gems on the side streets to! I've always felt safe and people are usually friendly / intoxicated. Not much else to do but eat/drink but it's great for that! Best hotels in town are also on/near this little strip.

Winery' taste testing all up and down main Street. Restaurants , bars ,music, a park for hiking down to the verde river where u can relax in the shade of Cottonwood trees , blue skies peeks through the branches. Never crowded Theres a small market , A store that sells nothing but glitter .everything was glittered and I mean everything. There's a hippie shop with all kinds of fun stuff , .sketches of Bob Marley and Gerry Garcia by local artist. There is another store w/ beautiful artwork .wWrought iron work , things made from local tree stumps, jewelry,Inlaid wood tables ,fantasy artwork . One particular artist had a dream of a dagger sketched it immediatly after waking and now he has a collection of artwork for sale.Alot of the art has a story the artist conveys to you .Theres always live music somewhere or a good sound system in bars and on patios almost everyday.Listen for the church bell at the Belfry Restaurant.( once a church ). When the bell rings, which can be heard all thru out the town you have 5 minutes to get in there and order a beer for 1/2 price.Fojol Brothers bar / restaurant, food truck service and old long buses for rides in the desert w/ a D.J set up, disco lights on board or a live band will make u dance the night away on a bus .! The staff is encouraged to crazily dress up for work. This place only serve beer and wine also a food truck and healthy bar food served in this fun place. Bocce by the old stone bridge . A Big fire pit outside.good places to get together for gourmet pizza and wine.full bar. Martinis r their specialty drink, different one everyday. Price is right too. Old town Cottonwood is a fun and historic place .Sedona and old mining town of Jerome r just a short drive away.

Scenic 10-acre park featuring restored 19th century buildings, exhibits & occasional re-enactments.

The guides were truly amazing. Very knowledgeable and very kind. Tried to help you at every chance they had but not overpowering. Always had a smile on all their faces. Had an amazing visit. A lot of beautiful history. Laid out well. Nice little short walk to see everything some stairs if you want to go up stairs to see other things in a small house just have to be careful with the stairs. But all the rooms are truly amazing. Look for the little box codes they will give you more information on each room.

The paid portion of the state park is really small but it’s really cool. They have a couple houses you can go in and a really cool “power shovel” (shown in pic). The power shovel is actually out of the paid portion of the park. I recommend for seniors bc it’s rly small but all ages can go here. There are events sometimes held on the field that could be cool too.

What an awesome historical site that has been well preserved and disabused me of many preconceived ideas of a western desert army fort. Ranger Ben was very knowledgeable and quite funny, catch him before he goes on stage!

Robert Horning — Google review

Beautiful place, rich in history about the Fort. The museum is fantastic and walking around the grounds was really fascinating. You get to go inside the buildings and see how the people lived back then. Also, Park Ranger Ben was super knowledgeable about the Fort and gave a great talk about the guns used at the time. We got to hold them (replicas of course!) and feel how heavy they were. Really amazing stuff. Worth a visit!

Jordyn DiNatale — Google review

This was a great hidden gem in Camp Verde. They have a great museum that shows Camp Verde back in the early settler days. Buy a $10 admission to the museum and you can walk across the road to officers quarters and the old Camp Verde High School Bell and sign. Once a month they have living history days where history buffs tell everyone how it was back in the day at the fort. Was a very fun experience.

Great experience. 1st visit to a cavalry fort. The rangers in the visitor center were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and great at engaging visitors in conversation.

Carey Kelley — Google review

I enjoyed my visit to the Park. The Park Ranger was very informative in describing the Fort's History. The Museum-Visitor Center had many exhibits on display detailing the history. The Officers Row houses were also open and were decorated for the holidays.

Raymond Ellis — Google review

Well worth adding to the list of places to visit during a trip to Sedona. Located in Camp Verde, this place captures history of the area and provides a deep dive into what it was like living in the West over a century ago. Gives insight to the purpose of the Fort and its significance during the time period it was established. Each building gives a glimpse into the past. Everything well maintained. The rangers are very knowledgeable about the history. Be sure to spend time watching the videos and reading the placards all throughout the properties.

You know a state park is enjoyable when both kids said they would love to go back. We all enjoyed the lengthy museum followed by a walk around the grounds which included the officer quarters, jail and many more historic buildings. The rangers here love their job and made sure we had a great time.

Dave Lein — Google review

If you’re into History and this type of stuff it’s pretty good. Nothing fancy like a lot of other museums. No high tech displays, but you can link to videos when walking through the old military houses.Interesting to learn about the Indian guides and Buffalo Soldiers.Restrooms are a long walk.

B and C — Google review

Very well maintained and preserved historical site. It's a small state park with lots of historical significance. The buildings are very nice and you can enter to see how these military members lived with their families. Just about all of the pieces used in the buildings appear to be of that era (late 1800's). It was a nice 73° when I visited the location. Sitting on one of the benches at the surgeon's house was a nice way to just enjoy the parade deck view with its ship mast flying the nation's colors. Enjoy your visit to this historic site. Be safe everyone.

Blazin' M Ranch is a western-themed restaurant that offers cowboy shows, dinner theater, and chuckwagon chow. It caters to families and has cute little stores selling souvenirs. The saloon singers provide enjoyable entertainment while customers dine on delicious food, including biscuits. However, the restaurant does have family-style seating which some people may not prefer.

We had a great time! The Blazin'M Ranch was a fun night for my husband and I! All the cute little stores had fun souvenirs and we really enjoyed the saloon singers! At first my husband wasn't thrilled with the family style seating, but we met some great people and had a blast visiting! The dinner was delicious and I loved the biscuits! My husband would've too, but he can't eat gluten. The stage show was fun and entertaining, and the Grand finale was super cool! We have already decided we will go back when we are in the area next year!!

Kelly Karnoski — Google review

We went here for a family style dinner Chuck wagon style. The ribs were excellent and the chicken was good. The beans needed a little flavor. The coleslaw was good. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well. Of course the rolls were delicious. We were able to throw some axes before dinner. The drinks were cold and made well. We watched the show after the meal which they were able to include a lot of the customers. All the staff were very friendly.

Larry Holcombe — Google review

Took my family here while visiting Sedona. I was pleasantly surprised with all the cool activities they have set up before having dinner. We did ax throwing, shot the BB gun, took an old west family photo, did a tractor ride, and rode the bull. Lots of fun. The dinner was very tasty and filling. The saloon had great drinks. The entertainment was light hearted and funny kids really enjoyed it. The ghost rider at the end was cool too. It was a great night out with the family and I would recommend it.

Yeehaw!! My daughter (9 years) and I really enjoyed this dinner show! It brought us so much joy. Your true Western experience! The dinner was very delicious as well. And the entertainment was good clean fun for all ages. We had old time photos taken which was a great bonus! You can tell this place puts their heart into what they do. 10/10 would recommend.

Samantha Steele — Google review

Oh my goodness, we had so much fun here. The entertainment was great and the food was awesome. We bought VIP tickets and we got a lot for the price. Would definitely tell others about this place.

Had an absolute wonderful experience. Every part of the evening was wonderful. From the staff to the activities and food . The show was unforgettable! Thank you so much for all the hard work and time put into an unforgettable evening. I will recommend you to everyone I know and we will definitely be back again .

Amanda Dodd — Google review

A fun family activity! Plan on getting there right at 5:00pm so you have plenty of time to do the activities. Would recommend 2-3 tickets person. Food is good and they can accommodate gluten free dining needs too which was needed for our family. Axe throwing was fun (although its time to replace those splintered handles) and the kids loved the bull riding experience. $77 per adult online with ticket/drink add on was a little bit high but overall a lot of fun time.

Jan Phillips — Google review

We had a great time! I rated the entire experience 5 stars but I do think there are some improvements they could make. The property is great, the activities were fun, the food was good and the show and actors were entertaining. We love our old time photo and we will cherish this memory for a long time. I definitely recommend going! A few opportunities for improvement would be: fixing all the coin operated items in the back of the toy store, having more activities for young kids, have folks that actually enjoy their job running the activities and maybe shorten the show a bit. We would have been just as happy with an extra half hour for activities and a half hour less of the show. Our almost 5 year old just couldn't hang for the entire show. However, it was a great way to spend our evening and we will go back.

Stephanie Guerra — Google review

The show was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was I had to sift through the platters to find a clean one and the ribs were not very good. The chicken and the rest of the dinner was amazing. Our favorite part was at the end when they did Ghost Rider.

Kristi Mitchell — Google review

What a fun time for the whole family. We recently attended a show and meal at the ranch and we had a blast. It was my mom, myself and my two daughters ages 11 and 9 and it was great fun for all ages. Be sure to get there right when the gates open to take advantage of all the activities. There was bull riding, axe throwing, tractor rides and more. The BBQ was so good. I am lactose intolerant and I was very appreciative of the extra preparation they take for those with food allergies. Great music after dinner. I would definitely recommend for those looking for a great western adventure.

Lindsey Shunkwiler — Google review

This is a tourist trap, let there be no mistake about it; however, it's still a great experience and worth the price of admission. Make sure to arrive early (5pm) so you get the benefit of shooting on the gun range, throwing axes or riding the mechanical bull. I'd suggest buying about 3 tickets per person (you'll need a ticket per event). There are also drinks you can buy at the saloon prior to dinner and a bar at dinner. I found the bartenders friendly, but not overly adept (you may need to tell them how to make an old fashioned, and the pours are somewhat stingy). The drink prices are reasonable for mixed drinks, and a little overpriced for beer. Dinner is an experience. It's okay food, but it's really the experience of eating in a metal plate and feeling like a cowboy that makes it special. After dinner, there's a surprisingly good concert out on by very talented musicians. Make sure to stay for it. Overall, this is a must attend experience.

Mister Jon — Google review

This was such a fun experience. The owners are incredibly present the entire time, especially during the show (they are the show!). The activities are fun, from BB gun shooting to old time photos (extra money but so worth it!). The show was family friendly with a mixture of classic country and a sprinkle of new age country. The best part was the band leader who played many different instruments from a saxophone to a harmonica, and of course the banjo and resonator guitar! We went for our honeymoon and they made sure to make us feel special.

Myranda Burton — Google review

Fantastic food, excellent dinner show, very cute western town and fun for the whole family. People of all ages will enjoy. We purchased a VIP package and it was worth every penny. So many activities - even on rotten 15-year-old enjoyed it very much. The entertainers -talented very very talented. Young teenagers that are working there are called " wranglers" and they were all so polite and wonderful. Make sure you stay until the very end for the surprise ending!

Jk K — Google review

I have now seen the dinner show twice. Before the show you can visit their little town/game area. We took the tractor ride and the person who operated that was kind and spoke about the area and the plans to expand. They have other things you can do while you wait for the dinner show. We felt as if the employees didn’t really care if we were there or not. They have ax throwing, bull ride, shooting game, escape room, etc. Almost all the employees are teenagers except for a few. Those who work the games and little town area also work the dinners. Both times now we were not in a good seating area. You do not get to pick where you want to sit. The first time we went, we were by an exit door and it was a constant flow of people going in and out the the bathroom! It was packed! It was also on the side of the stage all the way to the front and you could hardly see over the piano. The second time we were on the opposite side against the wall again. People who sit across from you turn their chairs around and block most of the view. Especially if someone is wearing a hat. They pack as many people in the one big room and I don’t think they think about the view that people are trying to see. It was not pack the second time we went. When we asked if we could move so we could see better, they told us no. Do not go when it’s hot. No AC in the building. Or if it is, it did not work. The best part of the show is at the end! I wish they would do more of that during the middle to off set what the singing plot is about. It would be nice to see some changes in what the show is. Some parts to what they are saying was hard to hear or know what was going on.I don’t think we will be going back any time soon. They talked about changes coming, but they also talked about that last year when we went for the first time.If you can not pick where you sit, then they should make it open seating and whoever makes it in the door first can sit wherever.

Dallas Jane Berentis — Google review

All the side games we a hoot! The food and staff were excellent! The stage act was hilarious and cute. The singing was. . Meh, okay. We had a great time. Loved that 2 married families had such a big part of this dinner show

JOANN Towler — Google review

Disappointed...I went 30 years ago and it was fantastic. This time, everything was good, BUT the show. I was looking forward to cowboy and western music to go along with the the whole theme of the evening. Instead, it was Patsy Kline and pop music, with NOT so family friendly corny banter. However, I must say the musicians were all top notch. The staff was very friendly and put a great effort into it all. For the price, the food portions were small, except the chicken. I wouldn't recommend until the show gets back to what originally was, good clean cowboy entertainment.

Christine — Google review

The food was excellent. There is lots to do outside before the show, so come when the gates open. It was cold tonight, but we kept busy, and they opened the doors early for dinner. The dinner show was so much fun. And you will not go hungry 😋

We did the valentines day comedy show with the spouse whisper and had a really good time. Food was on par for what you expect when doing a large dinner show. Overall experience was fun, did some axe throwing, mechanical bull riding, and target shooting.

We were pleasantly surprised how entertaining this venue was. Lots of fun activities for kids before the dinner show and a saloon for adults. The cowboy dinner was really yummy and the dinner show was very entertaining and we loved the ending! Can’t tell you what it is though! It’s a surprise!

Mary Pattee — Google review

The Blazin' M Ranch was fun! There's plenty of free parking and it's a short drive from Sedona. We opted for the VIP tickets which came with some fun perks including Old Timey photos, seating next to the stage, and earliest access to dinner. The pre-dinner/show activities included many family friendly games and a small, but cute shop. The Old Timey photos were fun, though rushed. The food was surprisingly good featuring BBQ chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, rolls, mac & cheese, prickly pear coleslaw, and cobbler. They invited folks to get seconds, which was nice. The show was entertaining. My one criticism is that it did not start at the time promised (6:30PM) which meant that we had to leave before it ended (8:30PM) because we had another evening event.I'm not sure how long the show ended up going.I would have preferred it if they had kept to their stated timing so that we didn't have to miss the end. Therefore, I would recommend not planning anything for afterwards.

Tuzigoot National Monument is an ancient hilltop pueblo showcasing the ruins of Sinaguan Indians. It features a nearby visitor center with artifacts from that era. Visitors are allowed to hike around the ruins and explore one of the rooms to observe how Native Americans constructed their dwellings with thick ceilings. The trails are well-maintained, picnic areas are available, and the museum provides excellent insights into the history of the area. The gift shop offers a good selection, and staff members are friendly.

Tuzigoot is a well preserved ruins of the Native American people. They allow people to take an approximate 1 mile hike around the ruins, and even walk through one of the rooms. This allows people to see how they native Americans used to build their rooms and how thick the ceilings are. They have also marked some of the areas so you know what it is.The trails are clean, there are several picnic areas, and the museum is superb, well done and very clean. Their store is well stocked for its location, and the staff are extremely nice.I would definitely recommend a visit here if you would like to see a little of our heritage.

It is a short walk from the Visitors Center to the ruins. We were lucky during our visit as one of the Rangers was there on the site. He provided an indepth review of what happened here and also how they rebuilt most of the dwellings. It is mostly just the outer walls, but you can imagine how everything would have looked. It is amazing that they left behind so many grinding stones. You will see these at other sites as well. You can actually go inside as some of the upper structure was redone. Once inside, go up some stairs for a great overview of area.

Daniel Grove — Google review

Awesome reconstruction of the original pueblo. This National Monument is very cool because you actually get to walk through one of the reconstructed buildings. Not so much a trail as a nice stroll with fantastic views of the surrounding valley. The whole area is paved but some place are quite steep and may be difficult for some to navigate. Definitely worth the stop!

F McK — Google review

Definitely worth going to if you're in the area. The historic site is small and you can spend as little as an hour or two. The nearby towns of Cottonwood and Jerome look like fun to explore. This site and Montezuma Castle tell the story of a fascinating culture worth learning about

Eric Songer — Google review

Really awesome national monument considering how quiet it is and being able to walk inside the dwelling. When we went, we were the only ones there, there is another pathway that leads to the marsh overlook as well. Visitor center had tons of stuff in the gift shop as you can tell this monument doesn’t get as much foot traffic, so definitely check it out!

David B — Google review

Tuzigoot National Monument is an amazing historical site! Cost is $10 for ages 16+ unless you have an Annual Pass used for all National Parks. This site was discovered in the early 1930's. A short 1/3 of a mile hike around the dwellings. The path is steep and narrow in some parts. There is a park ranger at the top to answer any questions one may have. From northern Phoenix to Camp Verde allow 45 minutes to an hour to Tuzigoot, depending on road construction and traffic.

Brandi S. — Google review

National park. Easy climb. Ramps first steep..then stairs to top. Nice views all around. Staff nice and friendly. We are National park members so cost nothing for us to get in. But if you are not there is an entrance fee. Bathroom in pretty good shape too.

Robin K. — Google review

Such an amazing place to spend the afternoon! The history of Tuzigoot is fascinating of course, but the experience is walking those pathways in and around the monument, and especially to the top.The view from the top of the monument extends miles in all directions in the Sedona valleys. Then you realize you are taking in views enjoyed by humans for thousands of years.Incredible experience. Bring walking shoes!

Dustin Phillips — Google review

Visited on recommendation of the visitor information attendant, this was a good and interesting attraction. As well as the ruins there is a hike down to the marsh and a walk around the bluff with native plant identification points. The guide at the top of the ruins was knowledgeable and helpful. If you visit here, the small fee includes entry to Montezuma Castle viewing as well, a short drive away.

Kirrily Turner — Google review

Incredible Pueblo ruin in the Verde valley. This ruin is easy to get to (we traveled there on the way to Jerome coming from Sedona). There is a really nice little museum/shop. The site is accessible via a walkway and there are limited steps.Would highly recommend. We went with a 2 and 4 year old.

John J — Google review

This was a fun place to explore and was a nice drive from Dead Horse Park. You can get free admission to Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well with your receipt and vice versa.

Louise L — Google review

Really beautiful and open. You can see Jerome in the distance. The valley is gorgeous. There's a mini museum inside the office as well. With it also being so close to the Verde River, I can see this being a good combo trip with that or Cottonwood

Brian Simonsen — Google review

An important place in the history of the indigenous people. The archeological site is a thousand years old. It helped me appreciate the profound history of the land. Full of information and well organized. Beautiful vistas and well worth the visit.

Tom B — Google review

Interesting to see and learn how the natives lived. Beautiful views. Nice road trip. Take the kids and enjoy God's majestic country!

Michelle Olguin — Google review

Very cool, especially to find out the it looked like any other hill in the area until they started digging and found the walls of the dwellings! Wonderfully informative ranger at the top of the main big build, pointed out so many crazy and neat facts and how they lived...access was all ladders!!! Great breeze, nice walk down to the grassland area too.

Maria C — Google review

Easy paved walk around the reconstructed pueblo, and couldn't believe we could climb to the second floor to look out on the surroundings. Sad to learn the surrounding land was ruined from slurry of copper mining that boomed the towns of Cottonwood and Jerome, but good to know revegetation is under way.Still can't wrap my brain around how archeologists found and rebuilt this structure from a hill of rubble. Amazing history of the Sinagua people and today's tribes who can trace their stories in these lands. Nice museum inside. The interpretative exhibits do a great job of connecting the storyline with Montezuma Castle and the Flagstaff area national monuments.

Mimi Snook — Google review

A nice National Monument and a sister-site to Montezuma's Castle. Interesting settlement design and structure. Very informative guides, including tribal members. Worth a trip to see the ruins and read the interpretive signs.

Grove Ayers — Google review

Tuzigoot National Monument was a really great thing to experience. Although unplanned during my trip, I am really glad that I stopped by for a visit. It's a really impressive structure considering all of the effort and history behind it. The walk to the top was very easy, and you even get a chance to pass by inside one of the rooms as you make your way to the top.The gift shop had a lot of really wonderful items! You should visit both Tuzigoot National Monument and Montezuma Castle in the same day if you can since they're tied together.

Jasmine Singh — Google review

The ruins are amazing, because show us the simplicity as well the advance eco-economy., the people that developed here had a very wisely and industrious society. This is a place for learning for kids ,and adults. Everything is nice, clean and very friendly staff.😊

Veronica Zermeno — Google review

Not handicapped friendly. The path is steep even for fit people. Nice small museum, gift shop and bookstore. Rangers are friendly. Bathrooms available. I like that they have plaques naming plants around the visitor's center. Free if you have the National Parks Pass, or it costs $16 per person.

Turney Turney — Google review

Amazing short trip from Sedona. I could track indigenous people’s histories. There was a guide and he explained the history. He knew everything about it and recommended me to watch a video in YouTube. Visiting this place gave me an opportunity to learn the history.

Casinos & Gambling

Located in Camp Verde, Arizona, Cliff Castle Casino Hotel offers classic casino lodging with a range of amenities. The hotel features 4 dining options and 2 bars, including the popular American Steakhouse restaurant called Storytellers. This restaurant is known for its comfortable and posh dining environment and offers a variety of affordable yet classy meals made from fresh ingredients and well-curated recipes.

We love this place!! The kids and I come here every couple of weeks to swim while my husband plays LET IT Roll craps. It's a new live dice craps table that is easy-to-use, and learn the game if you don't know how to play. They have several different restaurants, bowling and acarde. We will see you soon!!

Rhonda Brown — Google review

This place is pretty cool. Three restaurants: one very inexpensive ($8) for 1/2 chicken, mashed potatoes, veggie and roll. Same for meat loaf and other entrees. They have a 50s themed diner and a high end restaurant. Other than gambling ($10 minimum at black jack table), not much to do except eat, wander around or bowl. There's a fun place to leave the kids while you gamble, swimming pool for guests of hotel.

Jane Pascall — Google review

Had a great Christmas eve at the casino hotel with my family. We went bowling, ate at the buffet, gambled, spent the night in the new hotel. Great service everywhere. My only complaint was that the heated pool was not heated. It was cold. We did go swimming but didn't stay in the pool for long. Bummer! If only the pool was warm, I would have given 5 stars. We were there with my 13 yr old, 2 grandparents, 3 aunts and uncle and my husband. Good family time doing something different for Christmas.

Sonya Nez — Google review

Room was clean and beds were comfy. Staff at the front desk were friendly. Showers are spacious. Hotel was quiet. Most of the casino is non-smoking and has a dedicated enclosed section for smoking which I really liked because casinos in California I’ve visited are the other way around. The steak house was good and staff were super friendly.

Sol — Google review

So I received a free room at the lodge. And even though it was free the condition of the room, the cleanliness was one star At best, the front desk that checked me in was awesome and of course, spending time in the casino was good. Johnny Rockets, the restaurant inside the casino was horribly dirty. But I had children with me that we're hungry. So we had no choice but to eat there. Things definitely can be improved. But again, it was free so I feel kind of bad complaining but even if I did pay Those would have been the conditions so for a paying customer versus a free customer. The room should definitely still be cleaner And they could definitely use an upgrade. It's a very, very old hotel. We did have shuttle service from the hotel to the main casino. And the bus drivers were very nice and prompt so it was good and bad. Wasn't bad enough for me not to stay again.

Denise Guerra — Google review

$10.00 buffet: we were the first few to go in at 7:00am! No toast or bread of any kind, they only had scrambled eggs, corned beef and hash (taste like it came out of a can) hard bacon, good sausage links, cubed potatoes, small danishes that (taste like they came from the supermarket) and white gravy. All of the food was warm not hot. It did include your drinks. The best thing about going there was an outstanding male server that was so sweet, service with a smile 😊 and polite that made the experience worth it, we gave him a really nice tip!! That's a man that truly enjoys his job (he said so) and working extra hours because he has a family.

Jodie Reichert — Google review

I am a double amputee and they are not very ADA friendly. The staff was the worst part although our server Joesph was always happy to help us anyway he could always had a smile on his face and made us feel like V.I.P.s Remembering our names drinks making our day better each time we came for breakfast. The room was really nice other than the bed was to high for me to get into. So I had to sleep in my wheelchair. Over all I would recommend it . Sleeping in a wheelchair 4 nights in a row I would not suggest.

Melissa Cowen — Google review

Stopped by with my husband and had a great time! The casino is clean, the slots are sick and have wireless charging.Karen at the buffet was our favorite part about the entire experience, she is phenomenal and we would come all this way just to come see her alone! All of the staff were super sweet!

miriam cardenas — Google review

We only had experience with the buffet but it was a good selection of food and the staff was very nice. Huge casino area for those who enjoy gambling. The location is a fair drive from any large cities but very convenient from the highway and Camp Verde.

Brandon Williams — Google review

Nice casino atmosphere. We only go because Johnny Rocket is inside the casino which is probably the only one in AZ that is still Original as far as the old school Diner feel. Not so modernized like all others out here in AZ. Also they still put that smiley face with the ketchup on the small plate that's a plus! And the in door bowling alley is good too!

NDN — Google review

The hotel room was excellent very nice bathroom. But I used the Buffet Restaurant once for Dinner and Breakfast the next morning both times it was not the best. On the dinner buffet the fools looked like it was lying there for a long time. On the “ Mexican evening” there were no tacos available. The breakfast buffet contained the remains of the dinner buffet. There was no bread available. However the built to order omelette was nice

Philipp Anderl — Google review

Came here from Prescott for The Weekend for my wife’s birthday. The casino was great, drinks were ice cold, bar staff was awesome, breakfast buffet was on point as well as the staff and servers treating everyone so greatly. Everything was great until we got to our room. Our room was clean for the most part, pretty nice, the only complaint I have is the shower heads were coated in lime and the mattress was as hard as a rock. I paid $258 for one night in this hotel and I’ve slept better at a motel 6. I’d say the room rate to me was not worth it. Other than that we had excellent time.

Colt Sullivan — Google review

I love this hotel! the casino was amazing. I really liked that you had a bowling alley, and a play place for the littles. I also really enjoyed the valet, Danny was over the top amazing. will he recommend to my friends and family. honestly absolutely one of the best valets I have ever experience.

Gabbii Andorfer — Google review

We ate in the old buffet that is now a sit down with a menu restaurant. Food was outstanding and the prices were very low. The pandemic shut down the buffet but not the quality of the food or the very reasonable prices. I had a full dinner of Mesquite smoked ribs for 9 bucks. The casino was clean and had the main area on smoking. The slots were tight but the other games like caps, 21 and other card games were generous. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. I will be back.

Rick A — Google review

We really liked this casino. Clean, courteous staff (including the shuttle drivers). We even met a shuttle driver from the east coast near where we live. She spoke very highly of the area, the friendly people, and the serenity of the landscape. We will absolutely visit this casino again. BIG YEP TO THE LOOSE SLOTS!!!

Lindell Beatty — Google review

We didn't stay in the hotel. However the casino was fantastic. Non-smoking... except for near the small closed off smoking room... the rest of the casino was awesome and we couldn't smell the smoking. This is super important because my wife and I are asthmatic. This place beats Buckey's in Prescott... this will be our new stay-cay vacay spot for quick weekend, no hassle getaways. And YES having Johnny Rockets inside the casino is a very nice feature.... next time, we'll have to try the hotel and any excursions they may have to the cliff dwellings (we love history).

Frosty Hardison — Google review

Room was very clean and I was impressed.More importantly, the manager, Chelsea, at the Strata bar was excellent along with her team. Her attention to detail and kindness would make me return in a heartbeat. Thank you for the great service.

Christine Bower — Google review

It was Halloween so of course whoever made up my room short sheeted the bed. After a day of travel I failed to see the humor. Casino itself is very nice but they do need a dining option between very high end and fast food, especially since the buffet isn't open every evening.

Donna B — Google review

Out of all of the employees there Echo at the Diner (Johnny Rockets I believe) was the nicest and most pleasant person there. The hotel desk was also nice. The bartenders had more attitude than value at their jobs. The older male bartender was chatting up a younger female patron and would look at customers who walked up to the bar but would keep talking for 5 mins plus (which is way too long to be noticed but still ignored standing and waiting for a drink at an empty bar, I timed him and one waited 5:26 minutes) before getting drinks. I asked for a cup of ice (3 times, 2 of the glasses had red lipstick on them I still don't know how the female bartender missed both of those) because the bottle beers were warm since the bar back would not rotate the bottles (new ones in the back and older ones up front) so they never got cold enough. One waitress passing out sodas and water for the whole casino was a pain but there was a soda machine on the other side of the casino so get ready to walk to get your own drinks. Machines are super tight but we just went to enjoy an out of town get away so it didn't bother us but I wouldn't go there if you are a gambler. Their hourly give aways are a joke really for a casino. Over all I would give them another shot but I am not going to be expecting much at all. Hopefully they retrain all bartenders.. There was a heavier set male bartender that at least tried and had jokes so he was decent. By that time we just drank water as it was annoying trying to get a drink. Almost forgot the blonde bartender was also nice. Just the older skinner male and the dark haired woman bartender were worthless really.

Jimbo Blackwalls — Google review

Anytime we need time away from the kids this is the place to be! From the beautifully appointed lobby to the ultra friendly staff and several great restaurants within to choose from. The rooms are large and have really comfortable beds. The valet staff are always helpful with a warm friendly greeting. Rick and Glenn have enhanced our stay many times with their great smiles and sincere connection. I recommend Storytellers for a delicious fine dining experience (make reservations.) Thank You Cliff Castle Casino! We’ll be back!

Michelle Markgraf — Google review

This is our favorite Casino. Lodge rooms were OK and will try hotel next time. Food is good at but haven't tried buffet yet. Lots of parking. Good place for music and shows. Something for everyone with kids games, arcade and bowling. Haven't bowled yet to see how well they treat the lanes. It's our weekly motorcycle ride destination.

Full Moon Tai Chi — Google review

We came up for a night to check it out and we were happy with our stay. The casino was smaller than expected but we didn't have to wait for any machines. We ate at the buffet and enjoyed the food. The rooms were really very nice, very clean. Great service from everyone. My husband really liked Rick, the guy in valet. Good stay!

Becky Broeker — Google review

We loved the rooms. We mostly loved the valet service especially Rick who was super friendly and polite! There was a young man though that wasn’t very polite. I went back and gave him a tip and there wasn’t even an acknowledgement or thank you. But overall my wife and I love this place.

Brian Freyenhagen — Google review

I only spent the day there and did not get a room. So my comments are only about the casino. It was mostly clean but there was room to improve. It had a smoking section that I went into just to look around. I HATE SMOKING. They do have automatic glass doors to separate non and smoking areas. That's good but not as good as NO SMOKING AT ALL. The workers were very nice and friendly especially the lady driving the outside pickup cart. The machines were tight but where are they not. I did not eat or even look at the menus so can't say anything about that. There was a decent selection of machines but not the type I prefer to play. It's a good enough of a casino that I will go again but not good enough to get a lot of my money. It's the type of place to break up a long drive but not good enough to warrant a days trip for a casino adventure.

Ron Williams — Google review

I stayed at this place several times. January 30th we went to sedona for hiking, we stayed here, always booked the junior suite, but I was disappointed.Jacuzzi wasn't working, waterwas too cold. Coffee maker wasn't working. I was aboutto take shower from getting disappointed about Jacuzzi by the pool being cold. Thewater upstairs in the shower was cold too! never get hotter either. It was just alittle bit of kinda lukewarm. It was cold outside and needed to relax after spending a long day outdoor, no good food at night for dinner as the storyteller always closed on Monday. Food for breakfast at the buffet not to crazy about it. Played at the casino of course never win, drinks 🍸 was good. I will stay and check this place for another time.

Montezuma Castle National Monument is a well-preserved collection of cliff dwelling ruins that were built by the Sinagua people during the 12th century. The site offers a short, paved loop path that passes interesting plaques and beautiful sycamore trees, providing plenty of shaded benches for visitors to relax on. The informative plaques share knowledge about medicinal plants and include a diorama of the interior of the "castle". The national monument also boasts a good gift shop.

It's a relatively short , paved path loop which passes by the historic hillside interesting plaques. Beautiful sycamore trees! Plenty of shaded benches. Lots of informative plaques, including the medicinal benefits of many plants. Good diorama of the interior of the "castle". Pleasantly surprised at all that was there. Good gift shop!

Great staff, awesome visitor center with information on the site and gift shop. The walk from the center to the monument is so easy and quick any age can do it, and did. Toddlers were there, elders were there. Loved it. So beautiful and worth it to see in person.

Monique Renee — Google review

Nice and tranquil site. Trail is explained as 1/3 of a mile and it is but you can see the pueblo almost immediately on the trail and then again from many points later. Was relatively busy even at 10am had to wait in a short line for our tickets. Luckily we came on a day where there was an indigenous heritage celebration happening so there were lots of extra tables with information to learn and art to buy. Ranger said these occur every once in a while so I would look into when it's happening to see if it can line up with your visit!

Alexandra Karla — Google review

Another interesting and well-maintained National Monument. We visited on a Saturday in March. Crowds were light and it was easy to view the exhibits and interact with the displays. Informative guides and docents along the trail as well as in the gift shop. An amazing look into the ancient community and indigenous cultures. Definitely worth the trip.

Grove Ayers — Google review

I loved this national monument. Well maintained. The visitor center is a bit too small but it's pretty good. The trail to the monument was easy and well maintained. There was enough parking when I visited this place, it was a Friday afternoon. I would love to visit this place again!

Saba Farooqui — Google review

The park is easy to find. Tickets to Montezuma and Tuzigoot can get you entrance into the other park. Be sure to dress appropriately if you are visiting in the summer. On the day we visited it was 104°. The trail is paved. The Monument is awesome and well preserved. The story of Montezuma is another chapter in the ancient settlements of the Verde Valley and Red Rock region.

Larry Henry — Google review

It is very valuable to have places like this conserved. Allows us and our next generations to see just how our native people lived and what the land looked like in those years. Great loop that tells the story and the visitor center has ALOT more exhibits to see. Well worth the visit

Carlos Osornio — Google review

Really great monument to visit and spend some time in. Wish we could have spent more time but a thunderstorm was beginning to roll in. There’s a couple spots where you can stop and sit and enjoy the sights. Absolutely amazing to see this dwelling standing in the cliffside.

David B — Google review

Very pretty ruins!! There is a small gift shop right before you enter that has facts about the area and a small museum of sorts. The entrance fee is 10 dollars per person and pets are allowed also. Not a long distance to walk and there is lots of shade on the short trail.

Eric Locklear — Google review

For a Monday, in mid-October there was a constant line to pay $10 per person to the ranger in the afternoon. Pleasant mostly shaded walk to see the cliff dwellings. There was water flowing in Beaver Creek. Gift store is well stocked. Dogs on leash are allowed on the trail.

Diane F — Google review

Seeing a cliff dwelling has been in my checklist so I was excited to see this option on our drive between Sedona and Phoenix. Parking is limited, but just be patient a spot will open. There's a small museum and gift shop, be sure to get your vinyl water bottle decal. It's just a short walk down the path before you get a glimpse of the amazing cliff dwelling. Be sure to continue your walk to see other sites in and around the cliff side. Bathrooms and a water filling station can also be found here.

Sylvia Davidson — Google review

We really enjoyed our visit to this site because it's amazing to see how the Native American people used to build their homes on the southern side of the cliffs. Visitors cannot walk up to the sites, but its amazing enough as you walk the 3/4 trail to see it.The rangers that work this area are extremely nice, and there are ranger docents stationed at different places to help visitors and relay information about the area and the dwellings. The Sycamore Trees are absolutely beautiful and well cared for, as is the sidewalk and grounds. This location is well visited every day, so make sure you arrive early to get your parking spot.Dogs are allowed on the paved trail only, and they even hand you a "Bark Ranger" flyer for your dog. :-)I highly recommend a visit here if you're in the area. If you do, I also recommend a visit to Montezuma Well and V-V Heritage Site.

Janet S — Google review

Such an amazing place to visit, especially if you happen to catch a ranger. I asked a genealogy question, as I have recently discovered that our family has a significant percentage of "indigenous American" DNA, and he was able to direct me towards further research. It's exciting to know that these early cultures are being preserved.

Monica Kennedy — Google review

Don’t miss it, very cool. Super easy access to the hillside dwellings.Beautiful trees! Lots of shade too.Nice paved walk. Great for strollers, wheelchairs or people who don’t want to hike.

Brad and Cheri — Google review

Easily accessible, very well kept up, knowledgeable and friendly staff and volunteers. Nice fairly short walk to get a clear view of the upper "castle", a little further to see the lower dwellings. Lots of informative signs and demonstrative diagrams. In the store is a beautiful display of timeliness, art, relics, and additional information.Plenty of parking, shade trees, places to sit and take it all in.

Maria C — Google review

What an amazing place! They stopped letting people into the castle back in the 50s but they have a replica of the inside. The castle we see is the second one. The remains of the first one is just past this location. It's a short paved trail. Definitely recommend stopping by this monument.

Happy Wandering — Google review

tickets in advance in order to save time. The location has a gift and informational building to walk through to get to the cliff dwelling which was awesome, informative and a delightful shopping experience. You basically do a self tour, although there was a ranger giving a tour to a large group of seniors, and we got to listen in. The castle to me is so incredible and leaves you with more questions than answers. You can not go up to the ruins so the structure does not get abused, which was fine with me. You can clearly see it from almost anywhere in the park. It had recently rained, so we got to see a full Oak Creek flowing by at the other side of the park. My wife and I visited on the Vernal Equinox in March of 2024, which was very moving. We found a park bench to rest and meditate foe awhile, and no one cared or bothers us. Beautiful sacred space and well taken care of. I definitely had the feeling that I was the immigrant and these amazing indigenous people who built this and lived here so long ago were still present in a spiritual way to welcome us there. Was a highlight of our vacation to Sedona and for only a $10 ticket, I would definitely visit and soak in again.

Kevin Foresman — Google review

Visit both the Castle and the Well (with pit house), an 11 mile drive apart. But don't follow Google Maps down the dirt road! Follow the highway signage instead. Neither site replaces the other, and the story you learn is more complete by visiting both. Awestruck by the engineering and the story of community and migrations.

Mimi Snook — Google review

We arrived with about 7 minutes left until they closed the park. It would be years until we could make it back around to see it. They never pressured us on time, but we kept up the pace to get at least one good family picture, which they helped with! The park staff was amazing, I do understand that latecomers can be a nuisance, but they were so kind to us. Beautiful place, next time we will plan our day to see more of it!

Dylan Wilson — Google review

This is one of the places I was able to mark off of my bucket list! So cool to just walk up and see the cliff dwellings. Very interesting history and lots of information along the way. There is a $10 charge but it's worth it to see a National Monument.

Tricia Duff — Google review

I've been meaning to visit Montezuma for years. I'm not sure why I didn’t. This is one of the most accessible ruins I've visited so far.The park staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful grounds, and the weather in February was perfect!

Wayne Jackson — Google review

Get here early. Parking fills fast. Was lots of people, but once you get through the pay line, there is loads of room. You should bring water and wear comfortable shoes. You just stand in wonder at this structure.

Randa Hulett — Google review

Always a great place to watch the seasons change or to take family when they come to town. Decent size parking lot with space for smaller rvs/vans. The bathrooms are on the outside at the beginning of the building next to the parking lot before you pay to enter making it great for arrival and departing stops. The fee is $10 a person or is you have the national park pass it’s included. After passing the bathrooms you enter the gift shop and pay your entrance at the desk. There is an educational area along with the gift shop. Pass through the other doors and follow the looping path down to the castle. Some days they even have interpretive tours by the ranger but if you don’t catch one of those there are interpretative signs and even a diorama about the way of life all along the trail. The trail is paved and moderately flat making it accessible to almost anyone.Make sure to not climb on any of the monument or damage the trees.Leave no trace

Beautiful trip. I was especially glad to see they were not allowing visitors close to the attraction to preserve the site. A very nice man gave a wonderful description of the exhibit.

My little girl loved going. It's a small goat farm, you can go in and pet the goats, my toddler loved it, we bought some goat cheese (the chive) and so far she's ate half a tub!The soaps smelt amazing in the little store. If you're driving through it's worth a stop.Enjoyable for little ones and people who like to pet goats

Fiancé and I had a great time visiting this place. Owners were very sweet and I thoroughly enjoyed playing with the Goats and kids (baby goats) as well as walking the llamas.I also purchased some goat lotion and wow does it work!! Super moisturizing. Will definitely return.

Brandi Edstrom — Google review

Had high hopes for this place but was quickly let down. Found this place and the llama hikes looked like something fun and different to do and had good reviews. Tried to reserve a spot on the website and after three days of no contact, I decided to call them. First call went unanswered. Called a second time the next day and was told the person who was in charge was out at the moment and I would receive a call back that same day, never did. Called a third time, was told the website was down and that I'll have to reserve via phone, which is understandable because technology isn't always the most reliable. After a couple days, I finally recieved a call back to schedule the visit and was told that they could possibly do it the day and time I wanted, but "didn't want to" because they would be busy. So instead of replanning our whole vacation, we unfortunatly had to cut that out. Could've been avoided if there was a post on any advertising or social media that said they were unable to do certain activities at certain times. Hopefully we can get better communication and hopefully they aren't busy so we don't have to cater to their wants as a paying customer.

The imposing and impressive natural sandstone butte, known as Cathedral Rock, is a popular hiking spot in Sedona. Despite being an hour drive from Jerome, it is well worth the trek to the top for a stunning view of Sedona's vortexes.

One of our first and favorite hikes in Sedona. Easy access to trailhead then a hefty hike up! One section you are using all fours to navigate so not for the faint of heart. Amazing views once at top and well worth the climb!!

Laura Copeland — Google review

Great hike, good vibes. This hike is short and steep. Getting to the top will require some easy scrambling and the use of your hands to aid you on the ascent. The views are amazing. Try to get there early. I arrived at the trailhead by 7a and wss able to find parking. I believe they close off road acces around 8-9a, forcing hikers to take the shuttle to the trailhead. Bring water and sunscreen.Once you reach the top, "the end of the trail" take the small trail to the left for some additional amazing views.I really enjoyed this hike.

Good:Amazing landscape viewsGreat fresh, crisp airVariety of hiking terrainBad:Parking lots are horrible ($8? For parking without America The Beautiful park pass)1 way in n outCrowded past 830 amSome Steep and technical terrain for novice hikersPro tip: if you don't make it here first thing in the morning you'll be hard pressed to find parking in the main lot (20-30 spaces) and even overflow lot (20-30) spaces after 8 am. If you're getting there after 9am... Good be with you because you'll be waiting about 20-30+ min for a parking spot. ( Unless you're the kind of person who's willing to wait and have nothing else to do but wait).Other than the parking, waiting, and one section of the hike that is mainly smooth rock and about 60-70 degree vertical climb this place is awesome!Happy exploring!

Truly a hikers paradise. Sedona offers the best of free climbing. Cathedral Rock is a stunning must do when visiting this stunning town!

T L — Google review

My recent hike at Cathedral Rock was an exhilarating adventure that surpassed all expectations. The steep scrambles added a thrilling element to the journey, demanding both physical and mental effort, making the ascent a truly rewarding experience. The breathtaking views from the top were nothing short of awe-inspiring, offering a panoramic spectacle of nature's grandeur that made every step worthwhile. The early morning start proved to be a game-changer, allowing me to savor the serenity of the trail and relish the stunning vistas in solitude. The juxtaposition of challenging climbs and awe-inspiring scenery makes Cathedral Rock an absolute must for avid hikers seeking a perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty.

Short but steep hike. Try to get there early because this one fills up quickly. Excellent views.

Ashley Weinberger — Google review

This hike is SO worth it. As a novice hiker I struggled but seeing the sunset at the top made it worth it. It was tricky getting back down after sunset after it got dark, but since this is a popular hike there’s a lot of people around. The parking lot is very small though, I had to Uber from another parking lot (and there’s no service once you’re trying to leave).

Anu Trivedi — Google review

A must-see in Sedona. Would recommend coming here shortly before sunrise, especially in the summer months. It can get busy here, so coming early will help you find parking near the trail head. The rock formations behind the trail block out the sunlight for some time, so you can to avoid the heat.People come hear to get a shot of themselves near a cliff, which is to the right of the end-of-trail sign. To the left of the sign, there's a path that goes into the rock wall and there are some additional views there, with a tall pillar.

Carlos E — Google review

One of the more iconic photo locations in Sedona as well as Arizona. It’s beauty never fails to amaze me. With many hiking trails that offer different perspectives, it’s one of my favorite locations for hiking, mountain biking, or simply enjoying its view at sunset or sunrise. Definitely, one of the many locations to check out in Sedona.

This is a must visit place in sedona! Amazing views in this hike, some sections are a bit inclined but it is worth the effort. Must bring good training shoes and water, sun can be Strong even in winter. The is a shuttle bus for the parking lots.

Paulina Zapata — Google review

A fun, fantastic, and challenging hike/climb. I’ve done it many times and if I lived closer, I’d do it regularly. Exploring the rock is also fun as there are some cool nooks and crannies to find if you’re feeling adventurous.

Cathedral Rock located in Sedona Arizona, USA is a beautiful rock formation that attracts a lot of tourists to the area. The three separate complexes of rock formations are amazing with the sun rays reflecting their shadow on the land. A long trail almost encircles the two formations. To be visited if you are in the area.

Beautiful rock formations, and medium to challenging trails to get to the spot.

Elissa Lin Rathe — Google review

The roads leading to these trails were closed, so I didn't go first. But When I was driving on the same road for the second time, there was a person standing at the closed sign, so I asked how we can go to the Cathedral Rock trails. The person told us that we could go to the trail by shuttle bus. So we went to the shuttle bus place (you'll see signs of shuttle bus parking). They took us to the main trail. When I got off the bus and went to the entrance of the trail, there was a guide who gave us good advice. We walked trails for 3 hrs.Hiking the Cathedral Rock Vortex in Sedona is a last memorable experience. Amazing place! One of the most scenic places in Sedona is Cathedral Rock, but it is also one of the most challenging hikes.Cathedral Rock is the only one of the four major vortices with “feminine” energy. I hope everyone will visit this place

The Grand Canyon Railway Depot offers a unique and enjoyable travel experience to the Grand Canyon. The train ride provides comfortable and clean accommodations with great entertainment, allowing plenty of time to take in the breathtaking views. At the South Rim, there are various accommodation options available for visitors. The return trip features entertaining "robberies" by cowboys stopping the train, adding an element of fun to the journey. Upgrade to first class for even more comfort and excellent service, including complimentary snacks and beverages.

Our group road in the Desert View rail car. Our conductor was a ton of fun. He kept us up to date with what was going on during our trip to and from the canyon. He explained the real reason for wearing face masks. It’s so when passengers take their shoes off. There was a “Deputy Sheriff” wondering through the train car laughing and joking with the passengers. We knew he meant busienss because we saw him shoot four trouble makers before we boarded the train in Williams. There was lots of treats in our car. Our seats were very comfortable. The club seating was fun to vist with our traveling companions. We were very blessed to see a rare albino bobcat of which I caught in a photo, see attached. With all of the activities and comfortable seating on the train the train ride went by fast. All in all we had a wonderful train trip.

What a great way to visit the Grand Canyon! We've been many times in the past, but wanted a different experience. The Grand Canyon Railway did not disappoint. Upgrade to first class if you can, very comfortable seats and great service! The free snacks, beverages and optional alcoholic beverages, for an extra cost, were great!! The wild West show prior to boarding was entertaining as well. Entertainment on board was fun as well. Bring some $$ for tips!

If you’ve never been on a steam train, you have to book a ticket. 100% worth every single penny! Had an amazing experience on the train, went to the Grand Canyon in the Luxury Parlor, came back in the Observation Dome. You do have access to both but I would do the same. One on the way up one on the way back. It is worth every penny. Going to the very back of the train was amazing, watching the tracks and the world whip by on the Luxury Parlor was one of my favorite moments. Hanging out in the Observation Dome on the way back was just so relaxing. I really recommend paying extra. Snacks are okay, if you are really hungry bring something. Bathroom in the luxury parlor is huge. Over all great experience. Staff is fantastic, you get a champagne toast on the way back. Can’t recommend this experience enough. Beats driving! You’ll get some great pics on the back of the train!

We had a good with daughter, rode Pullman car out and Coach back. Pullman only car you can open windows and was a beautiful morning. AC in the Coach on way back was appreciated. You have about 3 hours at the canyon, enough to see the sights and a little walking. Bring more water than you think (some refill areas available) and remember you are at 7000 ft elevation so not as fast as you think.

M C — Google review

Made a last minute decision to take the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon. Happily they had coach class tickets available. The 2 hour ride was relaxing and fun. We had a tour guide who gave us the history of the train and told lots of "dad" jokes. We had musicians entertaining us up and back. The train was "robbed" on the way back to Williams which was hilarious. We spotted several animals - bunnies, prong horn antelope, wild horses, cows, and deer. A photographer comes through on the way up - there is no pressure to have a photo taken. The sears are comfortable; cold water is available in each car, but there is a cafe car. You are allowed to bring your snacks.Be aware that the train is very prompt so arrive early. As they reminded us, the difference between a passenger and hitchhiker is one minute.

It was an unforgettable experience for our family. Especially for my son, who has always had a fascination for trains. I loved the presentations, and the staff always had a good attitude and smile. I recommend it!

Did the Polar Express ride. The kids and grownups both had a great time. The employees on the train were enthusiastic and did their jobs well.

Aaron Jones — Google review

We had a lot of fun taking the train to the Grand Canyon. Train is a bit outdated, but the staff make it a fun experience. The snacks they serve are underwhelming. We took the Verde Canyon train tour 8 months ago and were spoiled with their charcuterie meal that was included with our ticket purchase. The one with Grand Canyon Railway was a buffet style and cheap, to be honest. The crew really make it a great experience so just bring your own snacks. 😊

Rode the train up to the Grand Canyon. Best train ride I have ever been on. I felt like I was back in time. What a great day trip

A great adventure. Took the train to the Grand Canyon Saturday morning Rob and Summer took great care of us and were so entertaining. We traveled back Sunday afternoon Rob and Kinga hosted out trip back and again took great care of us and made sure we were entertained. The scenery was beautiful especially with the snow. Would definitely take this trip again.

Hubby and I went for our 25th anniversary. Train was beautiful. Staff amazing, shout out to our bartender Carol. Thanks for being fun and attentive. What can anyone say about the Grand Canyon? Breathtaking and awe inspiring just don't seem enough! Make this a bucket list item!

What a great experience! Traveled coach north and south and it was comfortable and clean. The entertainment was great and still left plenty of time to just enjoy the ride and views. The Grand Canyon at the South Rim was spectacular and there is a lot available at the South Rim as far as accommodations. The train ride back was super fun as we got "robbed" by the cowboys who stop the train. Easy to get on and off the train, friendly staff and beautiful views! Definitely worth doing again. Plus major bonus, going on Earth Day it had the steam engine and there were no park entrance fees!

Heather Spaulding — Google review

I booked a 5-day surprise trip for my husband's 50th birthday (from Phoenix to Sedona to Williams, the Grand Canyon and back to Sedona). We woke up to several inches of snow yesterday in Williams which turned out to be perfect for the ride to the Grand Canyon. I booked the Observation Dome and Luxury Parlor. They were fantastic (and quiet). A big thanks to CAROL! We just loved her. Everything was just perfect and my husband was thrilled with his birthday trip. Thank you from Texas!!!

The Grand Canyon Railway offers a casual restaurant and a cozy pub. The train whistle can be heard in the morning air as guests hop on board for an event-filled journey to the Grand Canyon. Singing along with musicians, participants in an enactment of an Old West train robbery can enjoy the antics of western characters while travelling to one of the world's true wonders.

I could not recommend this enough. Everyone we talked to was very friendly with great recommendations. The cowboy performance was a delight, even for adults. We ended up missing the train (be aware they are prompt and you cannot be even 1 minute late), but they worked with us and rescheduled us for the next day (no addtl. cost) and we stayed in the Railway Hotel for the night. You get the perfect amount of time to explore the canyon (we chose to explore ourselves and did not pay for the bus tour). They even provided maps, walked us through them, answered questions, and ensured everyone knew the best places to spend time before we arrived at the canyon. Would highlight recommend the dome seating - it gives you a great view, it has less seating so is quieter, free snacks and water/sodas, friendly service, cheap alcoholic drinks for those wanting to order, and live music to pass the time. This was a great relaxing way to see the grand canyon and I would definitely recommend this. The hotel itself was nice with free parking, a pool (hot tub was under maintenance), and Williams was a cute town to explore with lots of shops, restaurants, and some bars.

We bought the travel package for a 2 night stay and train tickets to the grand canyon. The workers at the front desk were very nice and brought up extra bedding immediately when we asked for more. The train depot workers were so nice and made the whole experience easy. The hotel is slightly out dated but still SO worth the price! I would recommend to everyone! Best way to experience the Grand Canyon!

Catherine Callaghan — Google review

I stayed in this hotel based on reviews and photos on their website. I’m sure there are cheaper hotels out there that are much closer to the Grand Canyon. This hotel is about 53 miles to the Grand Canyon, which also threw me off when I google search. I was looking for a hotel closest to the Grand Canyon. I didn’t have prior reservation, so I had to call the front desk. Initially, I was told there’s a small patio overlooking the mountain, so I booked the suite for $450/night thinking this will be better than the Hilton or Marriott where I normally stay. When I got here, I thought I came to the wrong address. But because it was already late, I didn’t have a choice but to check in. I reserved the room for two nights, but when I saw the room, it was even more devastating. I was told the check in time was 3pm, but when I checked in, I had to wait till almost 4pm. Finding your room is like going through a maze. The carpet, walls and the doors looks like they are from the 70s. The sofa sleeper, carpet bathrooms, walls, curtains, furniture, bathroom are all very much dated, not well kept and need a good cleaning and sanitizing. This is definitely a one-star motel, not a 3 star hotel. If it wasn’t already late, I would have not stayed the night, so I turned around and cancelled the second night. I immediately returned to the front desk and canceled the second night. If it wasn’t freezing and I was already from the four-hour drive, I would turned around left. The front desk told me that they have a no cancellation policy within 72 hours. But, I told them that no one told me that when I called the front desk the same day I checked in. My receipt and confirmation didn’t say anything about the 72 hour policy. I think everything about the website is misleading and misrepresentation. In the end, they charged for one night for $435 with the military discount. It would have been $511 per night. This is a total rip off. I don’t know how anyone could give a good review of this place. The company must have paid those people or they are bots. For those looking for a comfortable and clean place, go elsewhere. The pictures may not reflect the stain on the couch and marks on the wall. while there is a shower curtain in the bathroom, there was nothing else that keeps the water from flowing in the whole bathroom. So, the whole bathroom is wet and slippery.

We had a nice 2 day stay with one day of taking the train to the Grand Canyon and back. Rooms are very nice but nothing very special. Comfortable and clean and nicely kept. Some things appear to be pretty new so I suspect it has been renovated not too long in the past. Overall I would have to say I would come here again.

Robert Norris — Google review

The lobby is beautiful, as are the rooms at first glance. The curtains were ripped to shreds and the paint was peeling off of most walls in the restroom. Nice pool area with a large hot tub. Could use a size improvement with the amount of people the hotel can accommodate. We ate at the Fred Harvey for dinner and breakfast. It was good, not 5 stars or anything but better than a golden corral. The breakfast was nice and included an omelet station. The dinner didn't have much variety and the carving station meat was very dry and cold. Dinner did include a pasta station. The building where you get the train tickets and meal vouchers had a large giftshop and the staff had great customer service. The train is comfortable and the staff is very knowledgeable. Cafe Car is very pricey (even for it being a tourist attraction). Great views on the way to the Grand Canyon.

Ayden Hart — Google review

The lobby really won me over at this hotel. Big, beautiful hearth, large leather couches, and a warm and cozy feel. What made me give less stars was the service. Our room had tagging on the window screen which was so depressing after walking in with kids and paying nearly $300. I had to complain about it twice before they removed the screen a day later. What really stood out to me was from the reception desk to the gift shop employee to the buffet staff, ever worker there looked and acted miserable. This does not include the Polar Express experience, which had great service. The hotel employees need to understand what “service with a smile” is and how it means a lot to those staying there. Would return, with hopes of a more pleasant staff.

Love all the grand canyon paintings, a suitable hotel for the town. Everyone is very friendly. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning!I don't know if it was just our room, but the hot and cold were backwards in our shower. We figured it out but there was a moment of "oh no, no hot water" 😂

We booked a 2 night stay at the RV park. It was perfect. The amenities were wonderful, nice showers, laundry room; a short walk to the train depot. As for our train experience it was fabulous. Words can’t express how amazing our train car attendant, Alicia was. She has a brilliant spirit and smile. She made everyone on the train feel like we’ve known her forever. She shared stories of her family and experiences with the company. Her love for her family & company shined through. The musicians, robbers, Marshall and western show was fantastic.Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back again.

Purchased the three night package traveling to the Grand Canyon. The hotel itself has been refurbished and the rooms look like a modern hotel. Clean and well taken care of. They make it so easy to get all your luggage to and from the Canyon as you ride the train. I would definitely stay here and purchase another package if we come back to the Grand Canyon. Kids and adults both had a great time.

Matthew Centofranchi — Google review

The hotel lobby felt very ...100 years ago... with its huge fireplace roaring, giant chandelier and open lobby. The wood moldings everywhere captured the essence of what it must have felt like in olden times. The large paintings of the Canyon and the Remington bronzes were impressive. The old fashioned, imported bar was delightful. Our room was clean, modern and the bathroom was way beyond most standard, better chain hotels. All staff were exemplary! We'll be back soon. Keep up your high standards. Memorable!

Linda Higby — Google review

We loved this hotel. Quite modern and comfortable, yet somehow historical. The train station and railway itself were responsible in large part for that. But the hotel itself has an old-school feel. A good vibe. For a railroad buff like me, the hotel and train package were on my bucket list. Our room was large and immaculate. After our experience with a hotel in the Grand Canyon it was very pleasant surprise.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we rode the train to the Grand Canyon and it was super awesome! The cowboys did a great job! Our cart attendant on the train was absolutely amazing. I think her name was Jane. The train had a little cafe and it was super nice! Will be back!

Room were standard rooms but services were great. One thing though, fitness room doesn’t open until 7 so it was hard to get a morning workout in without missing the morning luggage deadline. We stayed two days, one night in Williams and another night in the Grand Canyon. Transition were as smooth as it can be, our luggage were waiting for us in the room and when we got out of train. The scenery was okay but there were food and fun activities on the train. Overall we really enjoyed the trip! Thanks!

We stayed at the RV park. It was fantastic. The train ride exceeded our expectations! Everyone on the train the entire staff was extremely friendly, very bubbly, tons of knowledge about the area, and Arizona, just such a great experience. This is our 3rd time staying at the RV park. The Grand Canyon Railway Park has full hook ups, bathroom/showers, a laundry facility, a small gift shop and a boarding facility. You also have access to the hotel pool. The whole park including the bathrooms/showers are kept clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We will definitely keep coming back!

The web site does not do it real justice, it’s actually much nicer. I absolutely loved our stay. It started with our reservations, the level of service was unlike anything I have ever experienced. The front counter ladies were warm and It felt like coming home, instead of checking into a hotel. The place was immaculate and very clean. The fireplace in the lobby felt more like a home than in a large greeting area. The grounds were very clean and very well managed. They had just started to put up Christmas decorations so it was magical for us.

R Micks — Google review

Great price and rooms. The property was clean and cozy. Right next to the train you take to the Grand Canyon, so extent convenient. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Pool is heated and has a Jacuzzi. Fitness room was decent.

Our family of five stayed three nights while visiting the Grand Canyon and we highly recommend the hotel as a great option while in the area. Rooms and facilities in general are great! It's an hour away from the Grand Canyon but located just one block away from Williams' main street which offers several high quality dining and shopping options. I was able to see hotels at the Grand Canyon park and their rates, and all in all I'm happy we stayed here!

Maria de Aurrecoechea — Google review

We tried to stay here because the reviews were good but the first room we were in had cigarette butts on the window sill and the second had a horrible smell. The beds were as hard as the floor and the pillows were super flat. The food at the restaurant was basically like cafeteria food. That being said the employees were all super kind and tried their best to be helpful. The girl at the counter gave us a full refund and we were able to get a hotel elsewhere.

I will say absolutely must on doing the train to the Grand Canyon. The entire staff that works on the train was amazing and so was that experience. However the hotel was not very good! For how expensive it is their staff was very UNHELPFUL they closed the pool due to some “cleaning emergency” and didn’t inform us guest we had to pay to go to a community pool, the hotel is huge and we got no direction on where our room was and literally had to walk all over to find the room. The labeling of where the rooms are located are terrible. Everything else was great however we will not be staying at the hotel again

Chelsea Moberly — Google review

We chose to visit the Grand Canyon by rail to avoid car rental and driving/parking. Flight from South Carolina to Flagstaff airport then van transport to railway hotel. Train to the canyon, 3 nights, then return trip the same in reverse. Hotel was laid out a bit like a maze, just carefully follow the signage to your room number. Train ride was stress free and comfortable. Return train ride is more entertaining. We found the AZ staff and locals entertaining, genuine, and friendly the entire time.

Rooms means RV sites on this review…Outstanding facility. Immaculately clean. RV sites are level, long enough for large RV and tow car. Power, water & sewer services - no issues.Centrally located to everything in Williams, and if you are using the Grand Canyon Railway it’s only a 5 minute walk. RV site also allows you to use the main hotel pool & hot tib.

Very nice, clean, quiet, comfortable, and beautiful hotel. The package deal for the train ride to Grand Canyon, enterence to the South Rim, hotel stay, and food is a really great deal. It is well worth the cost and so much fun. The train ride is packed with information, humor, and beautiful views and really fun. The entertainment before and on the trip back and forth is worth it. Grand Canyon South Rim is breathtaking. The buffet dinner wasn't that good. The buffet breakfast was great.

We stayed at the RV park. It is real nice. Very clean, with really nice facilities. You can walk to the train station, or to restaurants from the RV park or the hotel. The train ride to the canyon was great. They have food, beverages, and entertainment on the train both going to and coming from the canyon.

I went with my family for the Polar Express, and we all loved it. The rooms were very nice and the buffet style restaurant was great. The line for the restaurant was quite long, but once we got in, we had a great waiter, and all of the food tasted great. The train experience was really fun (even though the hot chocolate was warned), and the beds were very clean. They even had cold water in the lobby.

Morrowstalker — Google review

We stayed in the RV park and our friends had a suite at the hotel. We really enjoyed the RV park. Spaces were easily accessible, clean, and well maintained. The laundry was reasonably priced, bathrooms were clean, and the park was very child friendly. The pool was heated (albeit a little chilly still) and the hot tub was hot. RV park guests get a key card to access the pool and other amenities of the hotel. We did the train to the South Rim with our young kids (3 and 18 months) and had a really good time. Definitely would recommend and would do again.

Dani Curtis — Google review

The hotel rooms are dated. Parking is difficult. The buffet is overpriced (+$30). The pasta station was exceptional and the only thing on the buffet that was remarkable. The restaurant was short staffed, but the waiters were working hard to satisfy customers. The entertainment in the dining area was enjoyable. It snowed our last night there leaving ice on the walkways and stairs. No attempt was made to mitigate the situation. Negligent and little concern for customers.

anybody going on the grand canyon railroad train. They have a really nice package that includes the Hotel , Dinner & Breakfast at the adjacent restaurant as well as the train ride. Price for my husband and me and our 2 grandchildren was about $650. One of the things that I really liked was everything is in one place. The depot, the restaurant and the hotel are all in one convenient location, so you don't have to drive from one place to another. It was snowing when we arrived yesterday, so this was really a plus for us. The hotel is a little vintage, but that's part of the charm. They have a beautiful huge fireplace in the lobby and nice comfortable couches. There is a nice indoor pool with a Jacuzzi. Rooms are comfortable. There are small refrigerators and a microwave, which is nice. Beds are very comfortable. The hotel is 2 stories tall. Parking is free, and lot is well lit. The hotel is very family oriented, but they do have a nice bar/lounge too. We had a fabulous time!

We booked at the rv resort. Service was great. Bathrooms and laundry were super clean. Had access to pool, hot tub and exercise room at the hotel. Absolutely loved the train ride to the canyon. Definitely want to come back and will stay again

LouAnne Reinboldt — Google review

What I liked: Awesome pool and hot tub. Really nice play-ground for the kids. Beautiful location. The buffet had a toy train that went all the way around the dining room. The kids loved that. The live music on the train was awesome. The time gap between arrival and departure at the Grand canyon was good for littles ones. What I didn't like: Very expensive for not very high quality rooms. The game room is like an arcade, so we didn't even take the kids in there. I didn't add dinner to my package because I was hoping there were other food options other than paying for a full-price buffet for a 2-year. We ended up having to go to the buffet there anyway and it cost us $110 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Staff seemed kind of annoyed with me for really minor questions (like how do we access the pool?). It was a very limited selection of food and not worth the money because of the ages of my kids. I wouldn't recommend the train ride for little ones; it was too long for my 2-year-old.

My family and I embarked on a remarkable adventure with the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel, and it truly was an experience that exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were swept into a world of wonder, with the historic charm of the railway and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of the hotel setting the stage for a memorable trip. The train ride to the Grand Canyon was the highlight of our visit. Gazing out of the dome car, we were treated to panoramic views of the breathtaking landscapes, a serene and majestic sight that left us in awe. The journey was not only a feast for the eyes but also a step back in time, enhanced by the entertaining and informative narratives provided by the staff. Their enthusiasm for sharing the history and beauty of the area added a rich layer to our adventure. Our accommodations at the hotel were comfortable and inviting, offering a peaceful retreat after a day filled with exploration. The friendly and attentive hotel/train staff made us feel right at home, ensuring that our stay and ride was pleasant and worry-free.However, our dining experiences at the nearby Fred Harvey Restaurant left something to be desired. Our first visit for dinner was met with a selection that was somewhat picked over, despite arriving an hour before closing. The breakfast the following morning, while offering better variety, didn't quite hit the mark in terms of flavor, although the service remained impeccable, with friendly staff making every effort to provide a welcoming dining experience. Giving it another chance for dinner, we found the situation unchanged and decided to explore other dining options in the charming town of Williams, which did not disappoint.Despite the dining hiccups at the Fred Harvey Restaurant, our overall experience with the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel was unforgettable. The magic of the train ride, the beauty of the Grand Canyon, and the warmth of the hotel staff far outweighed our dining experiences. For those looking to capture the essence of the Grand Canyon in a unique and enchanting way, this is a journey not to be missed. Just a tip for future travelers: consider exploring some local eateries in Williams for a more consistent dining experience.

Bell Rock is a famous butte with a round-trip hiking trail spanning 3.5 miles, showcasing upland desert scenery. It is well-known for its bell-like shape and offers picturesque views during sunset. The Sedona area also boasts of other popular hikes such as the West Fork Trail in Oak Creek Canyon and the Airport Mesa Trail which offers stunning views, especially in the afternoon. Another favorite among hikers is a scrambling trail that offers pretty views but requires an early start to avoid crowds.

My favorite hike in the Sedona area. Really more of a scramble but such pretty views and fun scrambling. Need to be at the trailhead before 8 to have a shot.

Andrew Barch — Google review

One of the most picturesque places you'll ever visit. It's an easy hike, but even if you take the difficult paths, you won't feel it because of how much more beautiful each extra step makes the place look

Branko Miskovic — Google review

First. Don’t try to park at the trailhead, park at yavapi parking lot across the street. There are only about 25 or so spots at the trailhead. This is an easy hike and you can sit for hours on this vortex filled rock. Incredible. We walked on the trail around the entire area, about 5 miles. The loop walk is a must.

Dreamy place for beginners to hike.Red rocks always look so unique.Great place to enjoy the sunset. The vegetation are so “ desert”.

xun wang — Google review

Went for a sunrise hike, it was incredible. Although it's mostly flat and rocky, there are some more moderate sections of the trail, and I was glad to have a trekking pole for these.

Carolyn R — Google review

Amazing! Went there yesterday, very cold windy day and enjoyed every minute. First time here and did not disappoint. Parked in the South parking lot and went on the 'Bell Rock Path' to do the climb. My suggestion is (if you plan the same and it's your first time there) to not stop at the first signage you come across. Continue past the first signage on the Bell Rock Path trail, not much further, and you'll come up to a better route of going up. Way easier and actually has trail signs the whole way to follow. Showed a picture of the sign you're looking for. As stated, came from the South parking area and my first time here... spectacular!

Gretchen Gillette — Google review

I really enjoyed this place, because you can climb the rocks almost anywhere, so it was fun.

David Hor?k — Google review

Such a nice place, i liked the front view more. The rock beside the bell rock is pretty too.

Tonni Das Jui — Google review

You can climb Bell rock while feeling the Voltex. Climbing shoes that give you good grip will make the climb easier. I was scared at the lower levels, but the higher I went, the easier it became. And I realized the importance of climbing shoes. The views are breathtaking, the place is phenomenal and fantastic. In the parking lot, unless you come early in the morning, you have to wait until someone leaves there. I waited about 20 minutes.

Kate “Clover” K — Google review

The first of our red rock experience and we had a great time. The hike is easy up with some rock scrambling up, but very doable. Parking can be tricky…. Small lot, but after a few minutes a spot opened up. We spent about 90 minutes here and enjoyed the views.

RidesnVibes_ — Google review

Beautiful hike in the morning. This is an easy hike and suitable for kids and dogs. I took a 10 min walk from Bell Rock Inn to the trailhead and didn’t need to pay for the $5 parking fee. The paths are somewhat marked but a bit confusing. I ended up checking from Google maps where I was and where the trail was. There were trails for bikers so maybe those were marked for them. If I had had more time I would have done the Courthouse Loop trail. Instead I turned back after 1.5 miles.

Tiina — Google review

Short hike. Around 0.8 mile, but it can be dangerous if you slip . $5 for a-day pass or $15 for a-week pass

Amazing and easy hiking, you can feel the vortex energy in the area. Mother Nature can be felt at the base of this beautiful butte. 🌄

Juan Pablo Urdaneta Quiñones — Google review

God did a great job on the natural beauty of this place. The trails are easy to walk on. If you are brave, you can climb up the rock up to the point that it goes straight up vertical, then you will need climbing gear and good skills.

Bell Rock is a popular natural landmark in Sedona that is definitely worth a visit. The stunning red rock formation is an iconic symbol of Sedona and is believed to have spiritual significance for many people. The trail leading up to Bell Rock is a moderately easy hike that offers breathtaking views of the stunning desert landscape. Visitors can take a leisurely hike or scramble up the rocks to reach the top of the formation, where they can appreciate the panoramic views of the surrounding area. Bell Rock is a must-see attraction that offers an unforgettable experience and is perfect for travelers seeking an adventure or a stunning backdrop to capture memorable photographs.

Sights & Landmarks

The Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona, Arizona is a striking monument built into the side of the red rock buttes. The chapel is famous for its location atop these incredibly scenic rocks and for its incredible views of Sedonas Redrock Valley. The church is Catholic and inspired by Marguerite Brunswig Staude's love of New York City's iconic Empire State Building.

Great place to visit. If you’re religious it’s definitely a good place to practice it. The views from the Chapel are great. If you arrive before 10 am you’ll be able to enjoy it more. After this it’s very very busy. You can also go hiking directly from the parking lot. Beautiful place overall

Oliver Smith — Google review

This is a fascinating church! We parked at the bottom, in the first lot, which gave us a great view of the front of the church. There were 2 men in golf carts, giving rides to the top for tips, which were thankful for in the heat. The church itself is small, but beautiful, with amazing scenery surrounding it. I would love to return for a mass sometime. I would highly recommend this.

Lee Spoor — Google review

The chapel is wonderful. A little crowded but a lot of parking and staff with golf carts to help get people from the top to the bottom. There is a big turnaround at the end of the road so don't be afraid to drive all the way looking for a parking spot. Beautiful views of the surrounding landscape also. Definitely worth checking out.

Eric Songer — Google review

Beautiful, Catholic chapel with amazing views. It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the chapel, but totally worth it. They also have a surprisingly large gift shop beneath the chapel.

Mary McDarby-Rios — Google review

Spiritual place that evokes emotions as you step up to the door.Stood in the footsteps under the gaze of Jesus. Can't explain how it felt. The staff are wonderful, especially as they ate dealing with tourists who are just ticking the chapel off their "to visit" lists as well as those who want to experience a bit more. The website stated to grab the first parking spot, but we found lots of empty ones further up the hill, however, we didn't mind as the climb gave us time to appreciate and photograph the surrounding mountains.

nicola stewart — Google review

Absolutely beautiful! There were a lot of people given that COVID is still an issue, so make sure to bring a mask. There is a catholic gift shop in the church.Might be a good idea to park outside of the entrance and walk up if you are going to hike Little Horse from here after going to see the church. especially if you are going a bit later so you don’t get locked in the gates after closing.

Adriana Covarrubias — Google review

Beautiful views surrounded by red mountains of rock. The chapel is a triumph of architecture in its simplicity and beauty building around the the perfect spots. I sense a feeling of holy and joy upon entering the church . I am not a Catholic but would still highly recommend fighting the crowds to see and experience the glory of the chapel. Outside is breath taking views filled with fresh air, i highly recommend packing extra water bottle or two and apply sun screen before visiting because the sun light can be a pretty hot.

Kousum Salyvann — Google review

I'm Catholic, and whenever I travel I love to find a church or chapel to pray and give thanks to the Lord for the beautiful gift of life. This chapel is so unique and it's nestled in a beautiful spot in the deep red rocks of the mountain. The cross on the outside is so perfectly placed within the side of the mountain. It's so amazing to see the gifts and talents that human beins are gifted with and how they use their gifts to glorify God!

Silvia Ponce — Google review

Very moving when you enter If you stand in footprints as they advise you will not be disappointed. Jesus will be looking at you it feels as he is truly their you must stop well worth it. Gift shop is basem*nt is well worth a visit so many unique gifts. Be patient it's busy and we all know how that can go.

Matthew Barbee — Google review

The chapel itself is very nice from both the outside and inside, but the view of the valley is something else! Would definitely recommend going here.NOTE: It’s free parking and the chapel entrance closes around 4:50PM, so make sure to come before then!

Waleed — Google review

While I’m an atheist I probably didn’t get as much out of this stop as others, but I will say it is definitely worthwhile. The views from the church are excellent, and the whole atmosphere was calming. I sat for a bit to take it all in and admire the architecture and how well it blended with nature. We arrived around 8:30, and while the gates don’t open until 9, I’m pretty sure they opened early. There’s limited parking, but we were fortunate to get near the church and avoid some uphill walking. Definitely go early if you can! This really is a must see location for anyone.

Dallas Urwin — Google review

Incredible views in every direction. The chapel is a triumph of architecture in its simplicity and beauty. Upon entering, a feeling of joy and serenity overcame me. I am not a Catholic but would still highly recommend fighting the crowds to see and experience the glory of the chapel.

Adam Friedmann — Google review

This chapel is breath taking! Perched high up, you can spot it from the highway as you drive into town, cut into the red rocks with its sleek yet simple architecture -it grabs your attention immediately. There are a few different areas to park, starting from the gate under the chapel, then continuing all the way to the ramp to the chapel doors, with 6 handicap spaces right at the top.It has a wonderful breeze that gently whips around you as you make your way up. When you get to the doors and they open -wow- the tree that Christ is situated on going to the highest point in the chapel is breathtaking! The chapel is surprisingly rooming with many rows of seating, all which have terrific views of the simple but stunning chapel. To the left are stairs that go down to a very well air-conditioned gift shop that has a wide variety of items (coins, postcards, ornaments, figurines, statues, jewelry, books, etc...so much more).

Maria C — Google review

Beautiful and (for some) meaningful space. Silence for meditation and/or prayers is appreciated by others in attendance. There is a long and rather steep ramp from the upper parking lot to the Chapel... parking can be tight, but most people keep their visits short so spots open up fairly regularly.

Karen Wiant — Google review

Must go place. The chapel is spectacular. Don’t forget to walk the trail. Easy hiking and so close to the red rock with amazing view!

Lan Burgess — Google review

This is beautiful outside and inside. It's clean, long ramp outside has spectacular views. There's also a gift shop inside downstairs which I didn't go to. This is entirely free but tight parking, narrow road leading up and down. Definitely worth visiting.

Cath Susla — Google review

It's a drive and a walk. The view outside and inside was amazing and inspiring. This is on a vortex, so..sometimes emotional blocks get released. I just recommend this as a bucket list item. For me, it was an experience that is worth sharing.

Jeff Gallamore — Google review

Spectacular chapel with singular views both gorgeous outside and inside. There's also a nice souvenir shop downstairs. Parking delay is worth the wait.

Desiree Regen — Google review

Breathtaking…It’s truly a slight to see…rising out of the dessert, one with the rock. Pictures do not do it justice.Come here before any hiking if you plan to. You can see the massive landmarks like cathedral rock, and then hike other places like Devil’s Bridge or the Birthing cave that you can’t see without hiking. When you pass the porta-potties, that is the last spot to go to the bathroom (none in the chapel). Between those and the actual chapel is a little parking along the road, with handicap at the top. You can take shuttles/golf carts if you don’t find a spot or the walk is too tough. If you are not comfortable driving in tight spaces around people, and turning around quick at the top to come back down, I recommend looking for parking at the bottom and walking up and getting a shuttle (golf carts) or walking up

EM — Google review

Nice view but it was really hard to find a parking space and took a while plus too much crowd. The place looked well maintained at least the chapel and sorroundings but I wish they have side walk or good space for people who are walking/hiking and parking.

Yenoh Nalas — Google review

Breathtaking scenery and moving architecture make this a great stop. We visited on Good Friday, which may have explained the heavy flow of visitors in and out. There are multiple spots to park along the drive that are well signed and multiple staff members guiding. There was even a golf cart helping escort visitors up the hill.

Sylvia Davidson — Google review

This is definitely worth the trip and hassle. Resist the urge to park in first spot you find. The climb in the elevation to the top is not fun. Keep driving to the top and you should end up with a good and close parking spot. The view and the chapel are beautiful.

Ron Rogers — Google review

A peaceful place to visit, reflect and enjoy the spectacular views! It is a walk up, but doable. A trolley can bring you up from the bottom. If driving, pack you patience.

Blanche Kapushion — Google review

Initially I put Chapel of the Holy Cross as an optional place to visit. When the staff from the visitor center suggested places to visit, when we have only 1 day to explore without long hike, this place became a must see.The view from the ground is very spectacular, when there is no mass they play some chanting music inside the chapel. I wished they had some speakers outside to allow visitors to meditate through viewing God's unique creation surrounding the chapel.I felt a spiritual connection as I visited this place.Parking is limited.

The hiking area Airport Mesa offers stunning 360-degree views of the red rocks of Sedona and is a great place to take photos. There is an easy 5-minute drive uphill from the Sedona airport and short hikes offer great views as well as experiences like vortex energy.

Airport Mesa was a nice, short trail that offered a cable handrail to assist with the climb up. As older folks, my husband and I considered this a luxury. This is a great place to take photos, and I recommend parking in the airport parking lot which is near the trail.

T N — Google review

A nice hike just below the rim of the mesa. Because it's a loop around, you get some nice views of the surrounding valleys and vistas. If you're lucky, you may have a small plane fly overhead when you're near the end of the runway. A portion of this hike runs adjacent to the airport fence, so you sort of lose that "nature" aspect for that part. Otherwise it's a different and cool type of hike.

Joe M — Google review

Everyone knows about this place; they go to see the mountains at sunset. It gets windy, take a coat! Parking costs $3 so when you go for sunset, allow time for the line-up. Alternatively, one person can stay in the car and drive to the end of the road and wait for everyone else to take their photos of the sun bouncing off the rocks. The view from the end of the road isn’t bad and it’s much less crowded.

Deborah Purdy — Google review

This is my favorite hike that I’ve done in Sedona! It is a very moderate hike with gorgeous views that are visible shortly into the hike. Unlike Devil’s Bridge and Cathedral Rock (where the trail is quite frightening at times because of narrow ledges or steep, smooth inclines) this hike feels safe and much less intimidating. Perfect for newbie hikers and experienced hikers who are looking for a beautiful stroll.

Brandi A — Google review

I was in Sedona for 2 nights and went to Airport Mesa both nights for sunset. It's a great view of the sunset and the red rock mountains around the city. Get there about an hour before sunset, it gets a little crowded. It's $3.00 to park.

Lisa Alkire — Google review

Pretty easy overall. Just be ready for some steps and inclines. Beautiful scenery and lots of choice shots for the camera. Wear proper footwear. It can be slippery in some areas and no guard rails. So basically you're in for a free fall if you do. But hey, no worries. You got this tiger! 👍

Darth Ruina — Google review

Went here for the sunset. There is a 1 mile hike to reach the top which is not pretty easy and the sunset view was amazing. There are too many people when we went though. While hiking back after sunset the view gets even better with the light on in the city. You can also park at the spot and there is view point which needs no hike. You can just sit there and enjoy the view.

Tejaswini Nama — Google review

Airport Mesa is an iconic spot for Sunsets and you have great views of Bell and Cathedral Rock. They have paid parking at the top here (by airport) and the queue to get in sometimes is long. Recommend getting there early and securing an awesome spot on the overlook or on the mesa midway up the hill. (Parking very limited there)

jamie foster — Google review

Awesome views from here. Must visit view point. Do stay here for the sunset.

R?vns — Google review

Great place for hiking. Watch out for snakes and scorpions.

Kathleen Annel Cooper — Google review

Easy out and back trail in Sedona with incredible 360 views! If you don’t have time to head on any longer trails this is a great option. Note that parking is extremely limited with only a few spots near the trailhead. We waited about 5 minutes and took the spot of someone who left.

Danielle — Google review

Beautiful hike that wasn’t overly strenuous. Lots of pretty wildflowers to check out along the way when you aren’t admiring the views of the mountains. Bonus - there’s a restaurant at the airport to grab a bite at when you get back around to the parking lot :)

Natasha Woods — Google review

Spectacular views and a short hike. It was maybe a 5 to 10 minute hike to get up to the best viewpoints. We spent a long time just hanging out up here admiring The View.

Stephen Stoops — Google review

Beautiful view of the city. There is a $3 parking fee, and there are a few toilets in the parking lot.Definitely worth stopping by and admiring Sedona from above.

Suzy — Google review

The Airport Mesa Vortex is an especially unique energy when you choose to hike to it.You can park your car in two places: one parking space is at the lower level, which is free. This lower level gives you direct access to the vortex. The other option is to park all the way at the top and pay a fee ($3.00), in which then you can take photos at the scenic point. Besides taking photos at the scenic point, I walked the Sedona View Trail which is a point to point trail that starts at the parking lot and ends at the vortex. If you just want to take pictures, then the scenic view will do! If you do end up purchasing a parking pass, it is good for the entire day so you can leave and come back during sunset if you wanted to. If you want a bit more adventure, then I recommend getting on the trails and hiking! Hiking the actual rock was a little intimidating since it's rounded, but there is a wire that you can hold onto if need be.This was one of my favorite things that I did while in Sedona! I definitely recommend it!Recommendations: Wear good hiking shoes! I visited on a rainy, wet day so the path was very muddy and sometimes slippery. Likewise, be mindful of where you step - there are a lot of rocks on the path and cactuses on the sides.

Jasmine Singh — Google review

Easy place to drive to for some great vista shots of Sedona. If youre going for sunset pictures get there early. It will get crowded quickly as it's a popular spot. It costs 3 dollars to park as well once you get to the top.Although sunset is pretty, the surrounding landscape gets in the way from getting those shots with a lot of color. It's worth a drive up, but don't count on amazing sunset shots, at least in my experience

Neil Hodges — Google review

A great place to watch the sun set over Sedona. It gets crowded, so make sure to arrive with plenty of time. Plenty of parking on site for only a couple of dollars

Justin Lynch — Google review

Lovely view point. I will clarify the parking situation. There is 10 parking spots that are free. If it’s full, you could pull into and wait as there is room to do so. Cars seem to leave frequently. 5 minutes to the summit view point. It’s steep, but very doable. 360 degree views. I went in late November, and the sunset wasn’t ideal as it went down behind the mountain. See photo. I would wait atleast 10 minutes for the sun to go down, as the sky didn’t change for us until later on.If there isn’t parking. You can continue to drive up the mountain to the airport over flow parking ($3). It’s a 15 minute walk/hike to the free parking. There is also a view point there that is nice, but it’s not 360 degree views.

Darian Wickstead — Google review

Great views, I came here in the afternoon, hopefully next time will be able to stay longer to see the sunset. There are paid parking at the top, it’s $3 per vehicle. You can go for a hike through a small gate at the side of parking lot. It’s a pretty short hike, it takes about 30-40mins to get to the summit but it can be pretty tiring if you are not used to hiking since you will be going up and down on the way. Some parts of the trail are steep and slippery but they have chains for you to hold onto. Suggest wearing a pair of hiking shoes and you’ll be good!

Wildlife and safari park

Nature & Parks

Bearizona Wildlife Park is a safari park located off Route 66 in Williams, Arizona. The park consists of a 3 mile drive thru and Fort Beari more. Visitors can see different types of wildlife including wolves, bears, bison, mountain goats and more.

GREAT CLOSE UP VIEWING OF GRIZZLIES in the walking part of the park!!! I'm not sure about other seasons but autumn is an excellent time to visit. I'm looking forward to visiting again in the spring. This is a great place to spend a day. I love that they have an area with picnic tables and allow you to bring in food of your own. This makes a visit possible for larger families which would be pay for 6 or 8 meals on top of admission. They do have food offerings and as I visited with just my daughter we enjoyed funnel cake fries and popcorn after our picnic lunch. The gift shop had some nice caps marked down on clearance which made me very happy. The were busy badgers, roaming raccoons, playful otters; so many fun things to view. The drive through area combined with the walking area seems to be quite unique to me.

Wow! I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this place! We did the walking part first and it's amazing! They have areas where you can go in and see the animals from really close, like a cave where you can see the grizzly bears really closely through the glass. It's beautiful! The drive-thru part was incredible as well. I saw so many bears and beautiful animals. It really is worth what you pay to enter and the facilities are nice and comfortable, plus the gift shop is great with acceptable prices. Definitely want to go back and I totally recommend going here.

Alexandra Bradford — Google review

This place is AMAZING! Best to go early in the morning when the animals are feeding and most active. Once in we are able to drive through multiple times enabling us to view the animals in different spaces and situations. We also enjoyed the walking tour where we were able to get closer views to many more animals. Make sure you make it to the 10:30 am bear feeding where the rangers share their knowledge and show off the beautiful bears.

Frances Kramer-Aisoff — Google review

The kids loved it. Drove in with a camper van sprinter. Had bikes on the rear, they asked to remove the bikes before entering. The staff are very friendly. They do look like they want to be there. I expected to stay for an hour only because of the size of the zoo but I spent more than 3 hours because the kids were having so much fun.

Luis L. — Google review

Had a blast on Friday morning. Not too many cars and we were able to take our time through the park. We got to see all the animals actively roaming and the kids had a blast. The bears were extra playful and the kids were so excited to see them. Highly recommend!

Ryan Bustamante — Google review

A bit pricey but I gotta say I think we went at the best time which was late afternoon (as stated on the website). The bears were very active and were very close to the road and eating their meals. There weren't a lot of cars so that was nice while driving around. There was a nice gift shop and the walking area was cool too. I do think it would quickly get expensive for a family. For 2 adults we paid almost $80. I just hope that means the animals are getting quality care!

rubymorales — Google review

This is our second time here and we just love it. Such a great little park. They have expanded some of the walk through exhibits and added a nice restaurant and gift shop since we were there last. Highly recommend going through the drive through a few times. We got there about 10:30 and some of the animals weren't moving around much. Did the walk through part and did one more drive loop on the way out and the animals were far more active.

Kimberly Field — Google review

We had a fantastic day at Bearizona! We started by going through the walk through portion. It was extra special to be able to get so close to the animals. The wildlife shows were fantastic, with lots of information and opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the animals (and dad jokes for days). The drive through portion was so much fun! We went through multiple times. It was like a life sized version of ISpy looking for all the animals. 10/10 would recommend spending a day here.

Emily Smith — Google review

Such a fun experience! First time visiting so we didn’t really know what to expect. It took less than 10 minutes to get in and they had multiple lanes open. We purchased tickets online prior to arriving. We went late morning and most of the animals were sleeping or laying in the shade. It was still fun to see the different animals. It was nice you could take your time driving through and most people respected that. Parking was easy to find and there were two entrances into the wildlife park. The wildlife park was just right and the bears really stole the show! We could have watched them for hours! There are a few spots around to eat and a cool gift shop. I’d go back for sure and choose a different time of day where the animals may be more active or in a cooler month when the sun isn’t so hot for them!

Nicole Reiman — Google review

One family told us it was okay another hyped it up a bit, but I would have to say it really exceeded our expectations. We plan to go back again when our youngest is better able to appreciate it.The drive through part was great. Some people complain about waiting for slow traffic but the roads are all wide enough to go past someone taking pictures. At one point we thought we might be holding up the line so we just looped back around the buffalo enclosure and took out time to circle around again when there were no cars. The walk through portion was great too. One of the zoo keepers had a little skunk she was showing off to the kids.I will say there was active construction going on in one part of the park but I didn't mind at all it was good to see they were continuing to expand and improve the place. It was also neat to see exactly how the stone work that make up the walls of the enclosures is actually made.We were there on a Friday and it was not crowded at all. Not sure if weekends are busier.

Bouman Seth — Google review

This place is awesome. We had the best time with both the drive through and walk through parks. Highlights for us include the 5 month old baby arctic foxes, the jaguars, wolves, and all the bears! They have several food and beverage stands, a restaurant and bar. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Everyone that worked there was super nice and seemed to genuinely love their jobs which always has a positive impact on the overall experience. 🤗

Jessica R — Google review

This was on the list for a while and it was certainly worth the trip. For me this was just an hour and a half drive up, so easy peasy. I arrived later in the day. There was no line. Pulled right in and paid the admission. Be sure to check the website. It is an extra $5 per person on the weekend. It was fun to drive around and see the animals for sure. Haven't done something like this since I was a kid on the east coast. People are kinda of stupid and don't follow the rules sadly. When you see an animal get close to you, you are supposed to keep going. Most people would stop so they could picture right out of their window. Watching folks do this with bears inches away, simply made me cringe. The only bummer for me was that I wanted to walk around and unfortunately I am at the moment handicapped as I have hip issues. So I did not get to do the walking tour.

Eddie Smith — Google review

Amazing safari style animal park. Animals are well kept, and they have a big territory to roam around. We drove thru 2 times and got to see more animals than the first time. Take your time, and a lot to see there. There are restaurants, gift shops, clean restrooms, and walk through zoo as well. Definitely recommend it and will return.

Suzy — Google review

A really fun place for the family to go to and see the wildlife there. You basically have two options, one, you can drive around in your own vehicle through a guided path to see all the animals, or you can do the walking tour to see the other animals in the zoo. Definitely worth coming with the kids. When driving though be careful not to puncture your tires. We found a screw in our tire just after we finished the driving tour, but luckily there was a maintenance crew onsite to help us inflate our tires so we could go to the nearest tire repair shop to get it patched. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Definitely a place you have to visit if you are in Williams, AZ. ❤️

Alexander Kwong — Google review

This was the coolest up close experience. I thought I would be scared but the excitement is so much better. The animals are very calm and present so that you can see them as you drive through. The park you can walk through has additional animals that are not shy. Really fun place for the whole family. I LOVED the restaurant setup. Really big gift shop for souvenirs.

M. — Google review

Bearizona is awesome! Definitely recommend a visit here. We have been here multiple times, and each time is such a fun, cool, new experience. The drive-through portion is worth the trip alone. We have had bear, wolves, buffalo, and reindeer all be within a few feet of our car! It's so cool! You can go through it as fast or as slow as you want, so there is no need to feel pressured by a line of cars. The walking portion is fun as well! Multiple habitats to observe. A petting enclosure. Shows throughout the day. Live music/entertainment. Would highly recommend the otter feeding event where you can feed the otters. It's so much fun! There is a snack shop and restaurant, along with multiple food vendors and drink stands (yes, including adult drinks to walk around with). Large gift shop as well! Don't forget about the elk and jaguar habitats - you have to go through the gift shop to see them.

T Stoey — Google review

The place is beautiful! The drive around isn't as long as I expected, but either way, it's still a decent length, and you can go at your own pace. The wildlife they had available for viewing in this portion was interesting, saw a bear taking a bath, saw some gorgeous wolves, some big horns, and some little bears. I'm sure kids would love this portion. Once you got to the area where you walk around, there were refreshments, alcohol, cute otters, porcupines, javelina's, and bobcats. There were other animals as well, and the entire area was just beautiful. There were a lot of great spots for pictures. It's definitely a fun place for a couple or family alike. The gift shop was very large and had a bunch of cute gifts and most of them very affordable. All the stuff I interacted with was very friendly. We passed by it on our way to Vegas and decided to stop by on our way back. I do not regret that decision, and you will not either!

Leo Hernandez — Google review

What a beautiful place! The enclosures are amazing. All the animals look happy and healthy. Every year they are doing more and more improvements and always looking to improve. The food is great, the beer is great! I don't have any complaints visiting besides we spend too much at the gift shop. Also wish the amazing train set was easier to see in the gift shop. It's a work of art.

Nicole Aksamit — Google review

Took my grandson here yesterday! We had so much fun! We arrived as soon as they opened so we were able to see every single animal on the ride and walk around! They were all out eating! We absolutely will be returning! The weather was BEAUTIFUL!

Brandee Tieman — Google review

I was very skeptical, but this place was way better than expected. The drive through part of the animal exhibit was really impressive, with elk and wolves and bears that would walk right up next to your car. Then the traditional "zoo" part of the park was also very well done, and the food at the restaurant was actually surprisingly good. Easy drive from the south rim of the Grand Canyon, if you realize (as we did) that it wouldn't entertain young kids as long as we thought a giant natural wonder would.

Brian Brimmage — Google review

Bearizona was AMAZING! It was so cool to drive through the park and have the animals come up to your car. Staff made sure that the areas you had to have your windows up, that windows were up and everyone was kept safe. I would highly recommend anyone of any age going here. They also have a nice walk through zoo that looks like they’re still working on adding exhibits to. Cost was $30/person and well worth it!

Solina Kuhn — Google review

What a wonderful place! My family and I visited after seeing the Grand Canyon and we just had the most wonderful time. We did the wildlife drive 3 times.. all of the animals are so healthy and curious! We saw so much. The gift shop is amazing and the food is great! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had traveling. All of the staff are so nice too!

Cassandra Roustai — Google review

We did a family trip to Bearizona for my granddaughters 4th birthday. The drive up there was absolutely beautiful and took us back to Christmas 🎄 Bearizona doesn't have any coupons or savings unless you come during the week. Price is a tab bit high on the weekend. So, we made every penny count. We drove around the park multiple times, and we saw more animal activity towards the afternoon. (Make sure to gas up before you get to Bearizona) We walked around to see every single animal (which is not a lot). We looked around through the gift shop, which is big and has lots of cool stuff. We didn't eat at the restaurant that I saw on IG. It does have nice scenery. (Maybe next time.) We left wet since we were having snow ❄️ fights as we walked through the park. Some people were annoyed, but we were having fun. We bought some hot chocolate as we called it quits and drove around one last time. Once you leave the park, you can't reenter. I recommend you try it at least once. This was my second time. Please let me know what you think?

Neomi Ramirez — Google review

Such a fun place for kids and adults! We drove through twice than walked the mini zoo, had lunch and visited the gift shop. Weather was perfect and all the animals were out. White Bison, Bighorn Sheep, otters playing to Bears roaming the grounds was amazing.

donna burgos — Google review

Unfortunately I have major buyers remorse. This place is so expensive! I asked the cashier if she thought it was worth it and she said of course she was biased. So we paid $150.00 for 4 of us. Our 3 year old was free. For that price I was expecting so much more.I do want to say that the park is beautiful. It is really well done in my opinion as far as atmosphere goes. However, we hardly saw any animals. The drive was so boring to our kids because they could not see anything. We did finally see a couple of bears sleeping and some bison eating hay.We stopped and did the walk through. Same story. All the animals were hiding in their logs, caves, holes, etc. Or just sleeping. We did see the big turkey. But we have wild turkeys roam around our town all of the time...so not a great surprise to see. I know the owners can't make the animals perform or do tricks or whatever but we were just so bummed. I saw all the reviews of how great it was...but we were not so lucky.I will never go back and frankly I think they are charging way too much for the experience we had. We visited the Fort Worth Zoo last week for half the cost and got to see hundreds of animals and had the beat time. Honestly, I would like a refund.

Laura Van Noy — Google review

Beautiful clean park!Loved driving through the park and seeing the bears/wolves up close, truly a unique experience. The drive through allows you to have the animals go right by your car.The people there are friendly and the encloses are well kept.

Simmy Varghese — Google review

This was a fun day! Admission tickets pay for the ride through and the walk through; and you can do the walk through and drive through as many times as you want. My family got there at 9 when they opened so animals were active and some were not. So then we did the walk through and had lunch. We did one last ride through and the animals that were not active were now active. It was fun the kids had a blast looking out the car window and running around.

Jasmin Alvarado — Google review

Definitely a nice place to visit with the kids. The drive in portion lives up to expectations; we had many close ups with bears, wolves, and bison. The walk-in exhibits were well maintained, and every animal is easily viewable and active, including getting to see 2 grizzlies wrestling around. The jaguars are very interactive with guests! We will absolutely be returning.

Tyler Morse — Google review

Too expensive for the experience. $130 for my husband, me, and our two grandchildren. The drive-through section was fairly short, and we didn't see that many animals. The walk around section is better with more to see. There is a restaurant on site and plenty of beautiful Pine Trees. The petting zoo was nice. The coolest part was seeing the bears up in the trees- I was amazed at how far up they could climb! There are gift shops as well. We had fun & I liked Beararizona- I just felt it was overpriced.

The Popescus — Google review

This is a neat drive through animal adventure as well as a walk through animal adventure. I went on a Sunday. I feel $35 is a bit steep for an adult. It's kind of small and I expected more animals for the price. The drive section can be frustrating when it's busy as people just stop for a very long time to take photos. As well as the bear loops getting locked in from too much traffic and needing to merge back in just to get past. The exhibits were nice, and I enjoyed reading all the info. Only rating 4* because of the difficulties getting through the driving portion in a timely manner (they should limit the amount of cars going through at a time), the price, and the overall size. I enjoyed tossing a fish into the otters. They have a large gift shop as well as a restaurant and bar. They have a coffee stand outside as well. There was another shop near the entrance, but the music was so loud and overstimulating that I walked in and walked right back out. It's nice you can go through the drive multiple times.

Kae Salyers — Google review

We had been told that this was a place to go. There are two areas. One to drive through and another to walk. We drove through a very well-built facility with natural living space for several species of animals. This seemed like a place that felt like the people really cared about the animals.

Lemmie Klein — Google review

This place is Amazing! Tons of animals in the drive thru safari part from bears, bison, wolfs, and big horn. The walk in part of the park is like a zoo with better enclosures for the animals than most major zoos I have been to. They have restaurants and bars and even snack and coffee stands in the park. This place is expanding every year. I recommend also visiting the Canyon Coaster and route 66 part of Williams which are all within the general area of Bearizona!

Mike Ro — Google review

This is always a wonderful idea. I haven't been for a few years and the kids haven't been since they were too little to remember, so it was a great option for spring break. We got there in the afternoon in time to see them feeding the grizzly bears, and catch the wild show. Then we did the drive through and they'd just fed the bears so we saw all those fuzzy wuzzies. Definitely a place to visit again and again!

Hiking Trails

The Devil's Bridge Trail is a 4-mile easy to moderate round-trip hike with stunning views of juniper, prickly pear cactus, and a sandstone arch. The final 1/4 mile of the trail requires climbing up one of the red rocks for an unforgettable view of Devils Bridge. Despite being considered an intermediate hike for only 20% of its length, it is easily accessible for anyone who wants to experience its beauty.

Worth the hike. Anyone can do this one so don't feel discouraged 💪

Ali Bakir — Google review

The trail itself is absolutely beautiful and there are many scenic spots to stop and take photos of the whole valley below. The only unfavorable thing was the lack of available parking, even on an overcast day during the off season. The bridge itself was majestic though, and the trail is not too difficult until the very end (which was mostly because the rocks were slick with mud). Overall, the hike definitely won't disappoint, nor is it too difficult for non-hikers to do.

Jaylin — Google review

First time hiking this trail, challenging at first but worth every ache and pain.

roz clark — Google review

The trail was so good especially because we made it after a snowy day.

Hamid Esmaeili — Google review

This was such a fun and beautiful hike but getting up to the Devil’s bridge in winter - January was a little tough! The snow was icy on the steps so we had to use our hands and sit down in some parts.Worth it for the views of this amazing piece of art rock formation 😍

Stephanie Millman-Mulet — Google review

Beautiful hike; we went at sunrise. Saw some wild pigs and a tarantula along the way. Went early in the morning, so light crowd. The hike was easy; the climb up to the bridge was moderate. Take plenty of water.

Heather Smith — Google review

One of the best easy hikes. I came with my family, and it’s a good hike with kids. My nephews were able to do it, and they’re not outdoorsy kids, but they were able to walk. From the parking lot all the way to the bridge, we took about 3 hours total (round trip). I've got to say it's worth the hike, bro, with no water, snacks, or proper hiking shoes.

Isaac Romero — Google review

What a hike! One of the best.Did it on a weekday late evening so it was very less crowded. The views are amazing and the hike is medium to hard.

Valentine Correia — Google review

Great place to visit, pay special attention to trail markers. Its easy to get off the path as there are several trail options.I would definitely download the trail map on my phone. The one that tracks your position regardless of cell reception. Take water!

jeff rice — Google review

Beautiful trail, towards the end near the bridge you will have to use your hands to climb up some flat, secured squared off rocks. I'm 56 years old and weigh 270 and I thought that part was fun. My body is strong and over weight but healthy.

Fred Birkett — Google review

Limited parking ! You need to wait with patience or just take the shuttle!Driving is optional but .. it’s a bit challenge 😂Devils Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch located in the Sedona area of Coconino National Forest. This is a great hike that offers breathtaking views of Red Rock country.it's one of the most heavenly sights in an area famous for them. From a trailhead elevation of 4,600 feet, there's a mere 400 foot climb in altitude during this moderately difficult, 1.8-mile roundtrip trek.

Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Slide Rock State Park and Sedona. The drive from Flagstaff to Sedona takes under an hour which makes it easily accessible.

Stunnninly beautiful place!! Wouldn't go fish there again but def will hike down. The access point is marked with a sign that states "water access" and then there are steps half concrete half boulder

Oak Creek Canyon has so much to offer from Starved Rock State Park to all the beautiful red rock in the area. There are lots of hiking trails next to Oak Creek, and many different places to jump in the water. Only downside is it gets extremely crowded with tourist from Phoenix.

The Grand Canyon Deer Farm LLC is a spacious petting zoo where visitors can interact with various animals such as fallow deer, co*ckatoos, wallabies and llamas. This popular attraction offers an enjoyable experience for people of all ages at affordable prices. The entry fee provides unlimited access to the zoo and visitors can even come back on the same day without additional charges. One of the highlights of this zoo is feeding the friendly fallow deer which adds to the fun experience.

Absolutely one of my favorite places on the planet!! This experience is awesome for kids, adults, and everyone in between. The prices are much to get in since you can pretty much stay as long as you want. You can even leave and return the same day without repaying entry. Deer feed isn't expensive either. And the souvenir cups are great. It's wonderful being able to walk amongst the deer, they come right up to you for food. The animals in pens are also friendly for the most part. I especially loved the Zonkey. They're fantastic!! The deer are just adorable. You must go!!

Stacey Newcomer — Google review

This place was amazing! Randomly saw signs while on our road trip. My 4yr old & 2yr old enjoyed this adventure very much.. I enjoyed everything about this place! Friendly people working.. lots too see. Huge gift shop. The animal experience was awesome. The cous deer was definitely my favorite - gave kisses & loved being scratched! Super friendly animals thru out the compound. Deer experience was really neat. I'd love to come back & visit again!

Tiffany Silva — Google review

Super friendly people! You can visit all day after the $16 pass. Buying feed costs $4. We only spent 40-50 minutes there - the farm is a short walk, but there’s lots to see! One of a kind experience. They’re so hungry!

Stanislav Kozlovski — Google review

Fun little petting zoo but definitely over priced for what is offered. You only need at most one hour and it’s pretty expensive to only be there for one hour. The deer are quite aggressive if you have food which was pretty funny but maybe a little bit scary for young children. This place could use some serious TLC and a few more workers but it was still a blast to get to feed so many deer and see a few other animals. Be aware they will eat your clothes and whatever they can get their teeth on!

Addy Merrill — Google review

Absolutely amazing. This was an unplanned trip- we saw the billboard while driving to the Grand Canyon and thought “that sounds cool” and it WAS. Very adorable and a lot of animals to see (and pet and feed and hug). We were there for 1 amazing hour. The gift shop was awesome too.

Gabby B — Google review

This place was really cool, you really get up and personal with the deer. They will follow you around and nibble on your clothing to get your attention or get fed. I went here when I was a kid. My wife and I drove past it and turned around to go back to it. No regret but going back. It was around $15 a person and $4 to get a cup of food to feed the deer. They have deer roaming around everywhere! They have lamas, rain deer, exotic deer, Elk, buffalo, pigs, ring tail cats, a monkey and lots of other animals. My wife loved it and i enjoyed watching her with the animals. We will take our grand kids back to this place for sure.

Brian McQuistion — Google review

Yall don't walk, RUN to this place. It is so damn cute and loads of fun!! We drove 3 hours to visit and had a blast!! The deers are very friendly and come right up to you as soon as you enter the gated area. All the other animals were so sweet too. Please visit, you won't be disappointed!

X X — Google review

This place is a must visit! There are dozens of sweet deer to greet you and they are not all behind a fence. Hand feeding a few dozen demanding deer is a but of a challenge but what an amazing experience to be so up close and personal with so much wildlife! There are a lot of very unusual species of animals in this park. It's quite Amazing!

Shelley Fenner — Google review

Best experience ever, definitely make a stop here. All the deer are super friendly (although they may try to chew on your shoelaces lol) The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, always had a happy face. There's more animals to see than just deer. My 6 yr old had the best time, she liked feeding the deer and having them follow her around. My 2 oldest kids did the zookeeper program, definitely worth it. They loved it, they could not pick out their favorite part. They worked along 3 different keepers they were all super friendly and helpful while teaching them how to interact with certain animals. Will definitely come back. Recommend getting the biggest bucket of food.

Michelle Vargas — Google review

This place was fun! Visiting from out of state, and we spotted this spot on our way to our hotel. Definitely a great date spot if you love nature/animals. Fun experience on feeding the deer. You have to pay an entry fee and purchase feed. The deer will run up to you and eat out of your hand!! Definitely worth experiencing!I never thought about experiencing feeding deer but happy we got to do it.If you have kids they will love it!!

Veronica Maldonado — Google review

It’s a nice little petting zoo type place. A little over priced. It was unique because you can feed lots of deer. We just got one cup for two people and that was enough. My daughter (8) got overwhelmed by the amount of deer trying to take food.I’d love to see a tour introduced here to give guests more of an appreciation of the animals and their stories.

Jordan Elbaz — Google review

We spend an AMAZING time at the Deer farm! The staff was very sweet and helpful. We paid $18 per adult to get it to interact with the deers and see other animals. (You can interact with others by paying extra). The Deers were coming at you, it was really cute. They offered us a cup of food for 4$ when you buy the tickets. It’s an awesome place that rescued a lot of their animals and definitely worth going with or without children.

So much fun at the Deer Farm, highly recommend stopping in if you're passing by!You pay per person and then the cup of food. We went back for many refills because the cup went quickly. The deer are so cute but be careful what you wear!! They kept chewing on my shirt and the laces on the back of my boots, nothing was destroyed but it gets dirty and they kept untying the boots. Well worth it, so much fun!! We will be coming here every year as a new winter tradition!

It was such a fun and unique experience! Getting to pet and hand feed so many deer was a blast. You will not believe how friendly these deer are until you come visit! There are other cool animals to see as well in separate areas on the property, but feeding the deer takes the crown!

The deer farm is a MUST when you travel up towards the Grand Canyon. One of the employees named Joe was VERY knowledgeable about the animals and was extremely kind and friendly. This has been a family tradition for a number of years and I was able to take my 2 year old daughter for the first time and she loved it. Thank you for all your hard work and kindness!

It's an incredible experience; if you're in the area, make sure not to miss it! We arrived at 5 pm, giving us just an hour before closing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the souvenir shop was a delightful addition. Now, about the deer—absolutely adorable! Buy some deer food and watch them nibble on your shirt and shoelaces instead of the actual food. Just a tip: dress accordingly for this charming encounter.

I thought I would nice like it. We ended up loving it. The deer surround you. They are very gentle. It was fun to have them eat from your hand. The deer will untie your shoes and nibble at your hair. The gift shop is really nice. We had our three year old grandson and he loved feeding the deer. Also don't forget to save your receipt because if you want to go back you can.

It’s a lovely little place with a few different types of animals. It’s not a day trip only about 30-60 minutes to feed the deer and walk round. There is no cafe and nothing else to do here. The staff are very friendly but there is no one about to tell you about the animals or ask questions to. The land mass is very, vary small but the animals look well cared for and there is no smell. All in all it’s a nice little stop. It is however, extremely expensive. We paid over $80 for 2 adults and 4 kids under 7 years old.The lovely lady at the front desk assured us all the money went to the upkeep of the farm and the vet fees and the hay. There is a nice gift shop but again it is very expensive

I've been to quite a few small farms & animal sanctuaries like this. Overall, this is a cute spot to stop & enjoy with your family at least once if you are in the area. The price of admission does not include any feed like other spots we've stopped at, feed cost extra for a cup which is for the deer only. They also have quarter machines to get extra feed from if you wish. They have information about being able to do other up-close experiences with animals like the wallabies and mini horses, the experiences last for fifteen minutes. We wanted to purchase the experience while we were there but told there wasn't enough staff there to do any kind of experience so if we wanted to do one in the future, we had to reserve a spot a head of time. Kind of a bummer for anyone who happens to see this spot on their way to Bearizona or other local attraction and wanted to stop into here as well. Most of the deer were sweet, some were a little pushy/bitey but they are wild animals so that is expected. It was neat seeing some of the other types of deer & animals they have as well. The Mini zebu was so sweet & soft. I'd say in total our group was here for about forty minutes, feeding the deer doesn't take long and the farm isn't giant so how much time you spend here depends on how fast you walk & if all of the animals are out where you can see them.

Luna H. (The Moonlit Nook Blog) — Google review

Very rude employee who checked us in this morning. We walked in and she just stared at us. Not a word. We had read about this place and it seemed cool! She just stared. My husband was nice and stepped in because I don’t deal well with rude people. Once in the farm-we loved it and the other employees were so nice and kind. I’d work on your front desk customer service. I would’ve walked out had my husband not intervened. We did love the deer and everyone else but that first impression was such a turn off.

Great place for the family. We enjoyed it a lot. Our four grandkids loved feeding the deer and interacting with the goats. There's also lot of other animals to see.

So much fun! I've been coming to the Deer Farm since I was a little kid it's always a fun time. The deer are adorable and pretty friendly, definitely food obsessed but they're actually pretty well trained. Highly recommend

A lot of fun, GREAT for kids! Morning is best time to go to avoid crowds and while animals are still active. Start out in the cute gift shop with variety of gifts to purchase. Purchase your entrance at the gift shop and you are provided 2 cups of feed per party. As you enter the farm, there are an assortment of animals and at the center are loose deer that you can feed. No animals or deer have antlers. All the animals are friendly and the kids laughed when the deer nibbled their shoes and clothes. Lots of baby animals that let even the smallest children pet them. There are several employees throughout the grounds keeping the pathways clean. The co*ckatoo right next to the door that leads to the gift shop is hilarious and will talk to you if you talk to it!

So much fun! My daughter had a blast feeding all the deer and seeing the other animals. Highly recommend as a stop on your trip or even just a fun day outing! Don't forget to double knot your laces lol the deer untied my shoes a couple times!

Amazing trailFairly easy hike, several stream crossings, beautiful country,Well traveled

Sherri Knutson — Google review

Absolutely one of the most beautiful hikes you can take in Sedona. While most people only venture a mile or so in, the canyon really gets more beautiful the further you go back (and more peaceful!). Between the creek that you cross several times, the towering cliffs, and the lush trees and ground cover you really can't ask for more. Take a lunch and go back 3-4 miles and you will have the place to yourself. Take time to sit down and take in your surroundings as the canyon is overwhelming. My favorite time of year is fall and time of day is mid to late afternoon. That time of day really allows you to take in the beautiful colors of the surrounding cliffs as the sunlight sneaks away. Make sure to wear good shoes and be prepared to fall in love with this place. I would give this trail 5 stars but the $11 fee to park is a little high in my opinion and your regular red Rock passes that everyone stops and buys in town do not work there. Also the fact that they only accept cash is a little inconvenient as there is now where close to go and get it if you forget. So make sure you have money before you take the drive up. Plan in spending at least a few hours and make sure to look around, as there are hidden ruins and things to see everywhere you look!!

Absolutely gorgeous and easy hike. Very family friendly with amazing views to take awesome family photos. There are restrooms and parking at the entrance. The trail is 3.3mi one way and has 13 stream crossings.

Mike A — Google review

Parking is cash only, so be prepared!A stunning hike once you get farther from the start and the road. It can be crowded at the beginning. When theres water, its a fun place to find slide rocks and get your feet wet! There is plenty of shade to keep cool in, and though certain river crossings can be more precarious, kids would be fine. Be prepared to pet some adventure doggos too!An awesome hike if youre looking for something a little more shaded than cathedral rock.

Ellie B — Google review

Unfortunately we missed the fall color by two weeks but this was still an amazing lil adventurous hike . Suggestion get to trailhead early. This place gets packed and no other place to really park around other than parking lot. Also you may get wet at one of the many water crossings

Juanita Belardes — Google review

Beautiful and easy hike but can be busy or crowded on holidays. It’s all the way at the bottom of the canyon and takes about 15 minutes to get there after you pass slide rock. There are logs you need to cross and shoes that can get wet are recommended. The trail is well shaded and flat for the most part.

Christina Tolman — Google review

Stayed in Sedona for 2 weeks. Hiked many trails, this being my favorite.Easy casual walking, lots of shade from vegetation. Historical architectural ruins along the path. Take a walk in the creek, sit on the rocks, and be present with the ravens, singing birds, butterflies, dragon flies, and little fish swimming at your feet.Locals hiking around me verbalized Fort Creek Trail was their favorite too.

Museums

The Lowell Observatory, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, is a working research center that houses the Discovery Channels telescope. The observatory was founded in 1894 by Percival Lowell and is famous for the first sighting of Pluto. The observatory has on-site telescopes including the famed 1896 Clark Telescope which helped to spur accepted theory for an expanding universe. Visitors can stargaze through the telescopes weather permitting.

Wow! What an amazing experience to learn about astronomy and view the solar system through their incredible telescopes. We attended 3 of the programs throughout the day - all excellent, and led by knowledgeable staff who are passionate about their job. Staff were all friendly and helpful. What a treat that we were privileged to use the famous 32 foot Clark Refractor once it got dark. The outdoor viewing deck was awesome! We had so much fun learning, seeing, and exploring the grounds. Must do for any age!

klmullet — Google review

This is one of my favorite places on planet earth. I recommend going an hour before sunset and staying until they close at night. The Flagstaff sky is unreal and I could not stop staring into the sky full of stars. Such kind and smart people work there. The location is easy to get to, only a five minute drive from downtown. Plenty of parking but it does get full so beware! There are stairs and ramps for accessibility. The gift shop is awesome. I’m in love with this place and I want to come back during every season. You will learn so much and see so much amazing history. It’s amazing that you can step into the observatory that discovered Pluto! So worth it.

Selena Quintanilla — Google review

As a historic site marking the location Pluto was discovered, Lowell Observatory is a really unique place to visit if you're a star or space lover. I visited late in the night so that I could catch a glimpse of the stars through the telescopes. The night that I visited, Flagstaff was expected to receive some snow. The weather affects whether the telescopes will be on view or not, so I called the observatory ahead of time to make sure the telescopes would be out. The staff were super helpful and kind, and confirmed all of the information that I needed.Lowell Observatory felt a lot smaller than I had anticipated, however, this place does have a lot of charm. I enjoyed visiting the Rotunda Museum to learn more about Pluto, and the gift shop also had a nice selection of items. I also viewed a short 25-minute movie about solar eclipses in the Steele Visitor Center. The only thing that tarnished my experience was the long line to view the telescopes. The lines were very long since the telescopes opened late due to the inclement weather. Of course this is something that the observatory cannot control, but I would say to anyone visiting Flagstaff during the colder months to be prepared! Standing in the cold for 45 minutes to view through a telescope felt somewhat disorganized, especially since each telescope had their own line so we only got to see through one of them. It might be best to purchase tickets the day you plan visiting to make sure the weather conditions are ideal for telescope viewing. Likewise, if you're going during the colder months bring a jacket and a hat in case you have to wait in line.Overall though, the observatory is a really unique place; if you're into this sort of stuff it's worth checking out!P.S. - The purple star photo was taken on a Google Pixel during a long exposure shot which captures everything in the sky, even th things you do not see.

Jasmine Singh — Google review

Loved the experienced. Solar flares viewing was terrific. Unfortunately, all the planets and the Milky Way were below the horizon, so the night viewing was not as fun as I expected but still a very unique experience. I wish they selected something other than a star or star clusters for viewing, but I understand that the choice might have been limited given the location of more fun viewing objects…. A tour that takes you to see the 125-year old Clark Refractor is a must. Unless you come in August or September, don’t expect to see fun things at night through the telescopes. You may just see a lot of white stars or star clusters that don’t look much different from what you see in the sky, so adjust your expectations.

Anna West — Google review

This Observatory is Amazing! If your in Flagstaff it's a must see! All day passes are $25 or you can get a membership for $50 which is good for a whole year and if you want to make it a dual membership it's only $65! They have a Family membership as well, but I don't remember the cost of that one. They have multiple telescopes to see. One telescope was built in the late1800's and another was built in 1928 and was the telescope that discovered Pluto! They also have 6 new telescopes that were built in 2019 that they view stars and planets with and they allow you to look through the telescopes eyepiece and are currently building additional attractions. They also have a list that shows a breakdown of the prices of the 6 telescopes and their mounting. The employees are full of knowledge and are extremely friendly. If you are a local or a tourist in Flagstaff I highly recommend this place, you won't regret it!

Daniel Labedz — Google review

Kid and parent approved! We arrived at about 7 pm, saw the telescope that discovered Pluto, went to the telescope out on the patio area and checked each one out, then listened to a presentation at the visitors center and the had one of the bigger telescope open that isn’t usually so we lined up to look through it. Finally we went to listen to the constellation presentation and the adults were enjoying it but the kids were just too tired so we left at 9:20. We really had a great time and learned a lot!

Kristin Adams — Google review

I would strongly encourage visiting. There are some museums and lectures, but the best part is seeing the telescopes. If you have flexibility, try and coordinate with clear weather. If the moon is out, you will get some spectacular views. If the moon is not out, you'll be able to see a lot of other things that a bright moon might make more difficult to see. We got to see Saturn with one of the telescopes, which was pretty amazing.I'm not sure how badly I would want to return unless you really wanted to see other things in the sky under different conditions, but if you have never been here, I would very strongly encourage you to visit at least once.

Benjamin Altose — Google review

Neat place if you are into astronomy. They have lots of telescopes. So at night is especially cool. Saw the moon close up, Saturn, Neptune & Jupiter. Also, from the top of the hill you get a great view of the city of Flagstaff below.

John Graham — Google review

I can spend hours upon hours at this place. There is so much to see and learn about. The tours are very informative and not too lengthy. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend going when they first open to do the tours, then grab an early dinner to make it back for the evening Telescope viewing of the stars and planets. Your admission sticker is good all day, so you are able to leave the premises and then come back.

Cory Borghi — Google review

An interesting morning, the highlight of which was looking at the Sun through a telescope. Yes it was safe and so cool to see the black spots and solar prominences. It was also interesting to see the old telescopes and hear the history of discovering Pluto, etc. Our tour guide was nice but needs to hone her public speaking skills. I couldn't do the evening program but it sounded pretty awesome to view the skies through their several newer telescopes. Also a shout out to the guy at the desk (sorry, didn't catch you name but it was the morning of 4/27). He described things well and with enthusiasm having to say the same thing over and over again. The several kids there seemed to be enjoying it as well.

Don Black — Google review

What an amazing visit to the Observatory. I’d recommend spending there at least 2hrs to be able to cover all key exhibitions and buildings. It was great to be able to look through their amazing telescope and feel like an explorer searching for new stars. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Wow, it's been 25 years since I was last here, not sure why as I'm in Flag frequently enough. When I was last here it was just the visitor center and a guided tour to one telescope. Now there's a whole complex you can browse at your leisure. My daughter is fascinated with Space and was super excited to come here. It's absolutely amazing. There are multiple telescopes for you to look through (weather permiting) and the folks that operate them will show you many amazing things. She had a blast. They have stools to help kids (and short folk like myself) see through the lenses. We were there for 4 hours and had a great time. Still magical all these years later.

Jaimie Cassandra — Google review

There is a lot more stuff than I expected. I would love to come here again at an earlier time since I came at a later time and some stuff was closed off. But it was great to explore and loved the little gift shop. A lot of the staff were nice and well mannered. At one of the digital telescopes they pointed it towards Pluto but since it's so far you need a lot more pictures over time to see which dot moved compared to the stars in the background.

Novazo — Google review

This is more a scientific campus with mostly passive education thru scheduled walking tours and videos, but I think the new interactive public education center opening up in November 2024 will really enhance the experience. It was cool to see up close the huge telescopes used in milestone discoveries (Planet X, err Pluto, anyone?) and the actual sun thru the sun telescope (red circle with black dots that are sun spots).

Mimi Snook — Google review

Definitely worth a visit to if you are in Flagstaff. It is a very interesting place and I learned the observatory played a key role in discovering the former planet (now dwarf planet) Pluto. The Clark telescope is here and there are many other cool exhibits to check out here.

Kiet TT — Google review

Absolutely incredible. We came during the afternoon and checked out some of the exhibits. We were able to look at the Sun from one of their telescopes and learn about the history a Pluto and exactly how old was discovered. We then came back in the evening time, and that's when the observatory really shined. We were able to see jupiter, beetlejuice, the moon and multiple star clusters in pretty stunning detail. We were also able to look through the Clark telescope to check out a pretty distant star cluster. They also had a really cool constellation tour world guide would point out the constellations with a laser pointer empire explaining how the constellations got their names. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip.

Daniel Pievsky — Google review

A visit to Lowell Observatory is truly an exploration of both the cosmos and the unique earthly environment it resides in. Situated at a high elevation, the observatory offers a breathtaking view of the celestial wonders above. The clear night skies at this altitude provide an unparalleled canvas for stargazing, making it a haven for astronomy enthusiasts and curious visitors alike. The observatory's commitment to public outreach and education is evident through its engaging programs and knowledgeable staff, who passionately share the mysteries of the universe with visitors. However, it's essential for prospective stargazers to be mindful of the practicalities of the location. The high elevation brings cooler temperatures, even on clear nights, and the weather can be quite cold. Therefore, I highly recommend packing warm layers of clothing to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Despite the chilly weather, Lowell Observatory's cosmic wonders and educational initiatives make it an exploration worth embracing, offering a unique blend of celestial marvels and earthly elements.

We really like the location, the science, the telescopes, and the story of discovering Pluto. We went in the afternoon and came back ( tickets good for entire day) to star gaze. They had several telescopes aimed at various objects. The Clark scope was on Saturn our nightAnd one can see the Milky Way

Richard Grumm — Google review

Very cool for you space nerds out there. Will try to make it back during the night to actually observe.Enjoyed small presentation about solar eclipse that was coming up. Went on a free guided tour about Lowell his passion and wealth, the beautiful property during the fall and, the main telescope story and construction.Disappointed that the newer observation building was not open and couldn't do any sun gazing. We were short on time with only 3hrs so had to cut things short. With everything available you could easily spend 5hr+ id imagine.

Utilizing the Flixbus for the first time ever! Getting out of town with 2 of my children. It's an experience like Greyhound except we didn't sit in our assigned seats, people just sat where they wanted to. We ended up way in the back end. As long as we get to our destination I suppose. Comfortable seats so far! Cruising down 117 and kicking back. I'm glad nobody hasn't gone to utilize the accommodations yet. 🤣🤣 We had to wait awhile, bus leaves at 320pm. I loved the toy train riding around on the ceiling and the tiny detailed model. The downtown is literally right on the other side of the track. You can find thrift, stores, outfitters, stores, bars, and restaurants galore. Downtown Flagstaff is definitely walkable even better on a bike. It's a great place to learn about the towns history. I grew up in a train town, so I find the sounds of the constant trains passing through to be relaxing. Downtown Flagstaff is a fun and charming historic district that is home to many popular tourist attractions. These include the beautifully landscaped Phoenix Memorial Park with its gardens, statues, and memorials, the historic Heard Museum with its impressive collection of art from around the world, and the Apache Junction Antique Mall. Beautiful place, especially around winter. First time actually being in snow, got to see it all. Amazing scenery, good places to eat and treat yourself. Stopped at a ramen restaurant called Karma and this one place that offers desserts named Sweet Shoppe. Both, although very few items, offer vegan options. Also, stopped in Crystal Magic that had amazing pieces. I recommend stopping by and checking out. Only thing I had trouble was finding a place to park. Can't wait to go back and explore more.

Difficult parking. Map provided really was hard to read. Several street signs are only visible from the direction of auto traffic, no regard to walkers on the sidewalks who also need to know which street they are on. Sidewalks had circles around trees that were not even with the sidewalk and pose a safety hazard for walkers.

Wish I'd had more time to explore Flagstaff. Very nice eclectic town. They have done a great job of keeping their original downtown area alive and engaging for tourists. I will be visiting again and will definitely make time for Flagstaff!

Melanie Palmgren — Google review

This old town near the Grand Canyon had a calm and romantic vibe of the West and the Route 66. There are several goods shops and restaurants that are open until midnight. If you're traveling using public transportation only, then you'll probably visit this place by Amtrak or Greyhound bus. It seems the town gets a bit sketchy and empty at midnight, so staying near the train station or somewhere with people might be better.

The shops were quite nice. Lots of fun things to look at. It's so pretty downtown when they decorate for Christmas. It's even prettier at night. The only downside is that items that are for sale are pretty expensive. But it's a great place to walk around and see the historic buildings.

This small museum spotlights the natural and human history of the Grand Canyon Region, as well as archaeology and art. Permanent collections are supplemented by exhibitions on a variety of subjects.

I actually went across the street and only viewed the McMillan Homestead from 1886. Wow, so much history from 1886, absolutely amazing. I wish I could have gone in, but it was closed. Beautiful old home!

Wonderful experience! I only wish we had more time to spend looking through the amazing collections. Several trips could be made and you would still have plenty to return to see. Highly recommend if you enjoy history, culture and archeology.

This was an excellent museum to teach and explain about the various Native American people in Arizona, Utah and Colorado. The exhibits were very good and vast array of artifacts, art work and pottery was astounding. Well laid out and delightful experience. Thank you for also being such gracious hosts.

Theresa Hoban — Google review

There is a lot of information to digest here so give yourself a couple of hours. If you like arts and crafts you will love the native American Indian artefacts and textiles. If you're interested in geology there is a whole section devoted to the Colorado plateau and the rock formations. If dinosaur history is more your bag you can dive into the section on historic eras and marvel at the remains found in the region

The STAR WARS EXIBIT IS NOT THERE ANYMORE, NEITHER IS R2D2 FYI! This is a beautiful museum with lots of interesting pieces and exhibits. The only downside is the gift shop is VERY expensive, beautiful & unique items but expensive. There isn't children's section in the shop where you can get an affordable small memento or keepsake. Even the stickers start at 10 dollars. The shop is geared towards collectors not children who may be visiting the museum as well. I asked one of the gift shop attendees if there was another gift shop and she rudly just said, "No". Some of the reviews indicate there are indeed two giftshops. My son was quite disappointed at the end of our visit but still thought it was a nice museum overall. My children aged 8 & 1 enjoyed the random ant play area.

This museum is well done with many beautiful and educational exhibits. There are hiking trails that pass by the front door. There are places to park your bikes too. The gift shop is filled with unique and original pieces.

Erica Oseff — Google review

Amazing museum! We went through it in an hour before closing, but I think 2 hours would be ideal, if not more to read everything. Highly recommend going when you're in the region!

A large site in wooded area by a river. Very nice paved walk. Free large car park. Pay approx $10 to go in. Vary varied exhibits of are with all aspects of past life. Beautiful exhibits of Indian life and artefacts. Lots of very good fossil and explanation of there life and haabitat. Very high quality gift shop with a lot of original art work.A visite to a site where a lot of passionate people have put it in place.

Very nice museum with a lovely courtyard, too. We visited when there was a guided tour option and the docent was very informative - specifically the geology and anthropology sections.

Ryan Smith — Google review

Wonderful hidden gem. Provides a great history of the area both culturally and geographically. It seems like a smaller museum but if you took the time to absorb even 10% of it, it would take at least a full day. Very interesting to learn about the native tribes, their history, and evolution of tools and housing. While a lot of the museum won’t appeal to younger children, there were sufficient children-oriented activities and exhibits to keep mine 4 and 7, occupied for 3 hours. Hoping I can come back with just my wife one of these days to spend more time taking it all in with my wife.

Marshall Dines — Google review

Tastefully done, beautiful little museum that covers everything from geographic history to Native American culture. Despite looking small on the outside there are so many exhibit rooms on the inside so plan for at least 3 hours to properly enjoy the space.

Georgina Corkett — Google review

It’s absolutely gorgeous and talks a lot about Native American culture. It has gorgeous jewelry as well.

Never been here, was my first time. Interesting place, went exploring this day. Pretty nice and quiet, they also have a area to lounge for quiet time. Was nice! Gift shop is excellent as will. Check it if your in the area, needing something to do. Until next time! 15$ to get in, unless your Native American 10$. 👍

This museum is fantastic. I wish I had more time to visit. If I lived in the area I would become a member. Their exhibits change something there's always something new. There's a lot to unpack. Best part is learning about the People of the Colorado Plateau from themselves. I love to hear people tell Their-story rather than History. It's more authentic that way. If you're in the area go there. It's worth it.

Abdul Rashid Abdullah — Google review

This is a very large very clean museum. Kid friendly, quiet, very entertaining! There is also much to learn here from prehistoric to modern times. I would definitely go back again because I couldn't get through the whole thing the first time.

Arizona Snowbowl is a snow sports resort located on the mountainside, which offers comfortable accommodation in casual rooms and cabins. The resort provides free breakfast and Wi-Fi to its guests. The drive to the resort is beautiful; however, it can get congested during peak hours. New Year's weekends are particularly busy, with heavy traffic as early as 9 am. Due to a recent snowstorm, many visitors flock to the resort resulting in limited parking space by mid-morning.

We had fun snowboarding here with friends. Nice mountains view, the waiting line to get rental was not bad on the weekend. The staff were so nice and helpful, they saved me from falling of lift, they were fun people! It was snowing in the afternoon, very fun to snowboarding 🏂 down the hills with snow flying in the air.

Beautiful drive. The traffic piled up quickly. As early as 9am Sunday morning, New year weekend. Just finished a great snow storm a few days back. Cars were going 15mph. Slowly, but surely made it to parking. Was kind of far, but walkable. There's a lot of people by 9:30am! Suggest 7am arrival if u want a good parking spot. So the dinning area does this thing where u can order food with an app or scan a code. Pizza looks good, $25. Discounts offered to certain membership holder.

I’ve been wanting to ride Snowbowl since I first drove through Flagstaff when I was a Jr in college. 27 years later I finally did it, and it didn’t disappoint! The runs were well maintained, fun, and challenging. It wasn’t busy the day I went. The views are fantastic. The food prices were less expensive compared to places I ride on the East Coast. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in AZ during the winter!

We visited a couple of years ago and felt the process and facilities were better the first time. This time we did visit over a holiday week. To get to the Snowbowl & get your gear took at least two hours. The lift lines for the Aspen were insanely long yet they were still allowing single riders. Humphrey lift lines were long but moved a lot better. We ran out of time to check the other lifts. The slopes were good although with the fresh snow many were not groomed. The lockers and restrooms required long waits and it all felt pretty dirty.I love Flagstaff and will return but will bring my own gear and get there early. We did not have a four wheel drive vehicle so we had to take the shuttle up- it added anywhere from 1-2 hours due to waiting in lines. The return ride wait was very long. The actual shuttle ride was fine.Make sure you rent a four wheel drive vehicle if visiting during snowy conditions.

Played at Snowbowl to escape the Phoenix heatNana isn't used to being in AZ during the sweltering summers. So she and I took the kids on a day trip up to Flagstaff and Snowbowl. Phoenix was about 112° for the day and we dropped 30-40°at the top of Snowbowl! After lunch in downtown Flagstaff we headed up the mountain to Snowbowl. All four of us rode the Gondola up ($18 each). It was a fun and relaxing 10 minute ride 2500 feet up. Nana and Rori sat at the top watching the gondola because you could definitely feel the extra effort in breathing at this elevation. Jace and I climbed an additional couple hundred feet up the steps for an amazing view. As the clouds cleared, we could almost see the Grand Canyon! The highlight for me may have been using the "highest toilet" in Arizona. We rode the Gondola back down. Nana and I grabbed drinks at the bar and watched the kids play. We bought the kids each a 3-activity pass ($30 each). Activities to choose from are the tube slide, bungee trampoline and rock climbing wall. They each got 5 sides down the hill, 5 minutes on the trampoline and 5 attempts at the wall.It was a fun day!Check out more on Instagram @msbusyblonde

Nature at its best of beauty!!Food- bring your own as the lines are long, food and drinks are expensive and they were out for chicken strips and nuggets by noon . Fries came after 50 mins, that kind of busy on top.We paid $$$ for the gondola for scenic view and it was one round up and back, you cannot get down to take photo’s, and it starts at 1pm for scenic view, you CANNOT board it before. Others could ride it , who were going up for activity. Poor directions , if you are going for first time.Parking was plenty with multiple lots. You cannot beat the mountain beauty though!!! Must go!

Not bad considering there’s no where else to ski within 300+ miles! But, customer service is non-existent. I almost bought a lift ticket for my birthday for $54, but ended up paying $72. Snowbowl used to offer free lift tickets on your birthday, so I called them to confirm. A recorded message said to email them, so I did. It took them 5 days to respond, during which the lift ticket prices went up. The staff/attendants on site were great, but given the poor customer service, I likely will not be buying another ticket anytime soon :(.

Had a super awesome time here. Took our kids teenager and college student. Dad and 16 year old son went for a day of snowboarding. Mom and 20 year old daughter took the snowboarding class. Check in and check out of rentals was a super easy and quick process. The staff is positive and encouraging. The food and bar area was fast and convenient. You can order from a kiosk or off an app on your phone. Thank you for a great day!!

We had a very good time despite going on weekends ( sunday). The staff was very welcoming and seemed to try their best when servicing clients. Couple of things to keep in mind if that’s your first time going (was ours)1. arrive before 8am. We arrived at 7:40am and there were plenty of parking close to the rental lodge. Rentals open at 7:30 so we were in and out of there in no time because there weren’t a lot of customers that early.2. Buy tickets a month in advance, we got our lift ticket for $70/each, there were some for $30 but we just wanted to secure this specific day. We checked the $ a day of and it was already $200+ ( so plan accordingly and save your bucks )3. Bring your own water/snacks/food and just store in a locker ($10/day) and save $$$ on the food they offer at the lodge4. If it’s the first time skiing go straight to little spruce - no lines at all and you will have almost an empty area to yourself.5. Check the weather on their website the day of we planned to take a bunch of layers but it turned out to be relatively warm ( skied only in long sleeve t-shirt and light rain jacket.Hope this helps

We came in the summer for the gondola, and kid’s activities. Shout out to Abby at the bungee jump. She was outstanding with every kid no matter what age. She’s an asset to this place. We enjoyed the tube slide too!

Come ski the mountain with the highest peaks in AZ. Kid lift tickets are free, too!! We had such a great time snowboarding. Fresh powder and friendly staff. Make sure to get snow chains or your 4x4 before making the trek. Also, their rental gear is of great quality and a pain-free experience. I'm definitely going to return next season

Our instructor Adam was the best! This was my first skiing experience so naturally I was very nervous, but Adam explained everything in a very engaging and understandable way. He is nice, supportive, and very experienced!I am now in love with the sport cannot imagine if it was someone else as my first instructor. THANK YOU SO MUCH, ADAM!P.s Everyone working there is also super nice. It’s such a friendly place.

As a first-timer here, I was impressed at the beauty of Aspen Trail Loop. There was plenty of parking, friendly staff at the trailhead and plenty of signage along the trail. The hike was absolutely gorgeous! I would definitely go back just for that.We also opted to take a ride on the gondola to the top of the mountain. Picturesque views, wildlife and additional hiking at the top (if you're up for it). It was 36° at the top and the elevation of 11,500 feet kicked our butts, and we were still damp from our earlier hike. So we didn't last long at the top, but it was totally worth it.At the Base, we had some delicious hot cocoa, listened to some live music, and hung out for a few before heading home.I would absolutely recommend taking the time to visit this fun and beautiful location!

Heather Cserpnyak — Google review

Such a beautiful experience riding up the gondola. The scenic view is breath taking. We would definitely recommend going earlier in the morning, we rode up to the top and stayed a while by the time we came down it was so busy, they had a long line to get on the gondola especially on the weekends. There are also beautiful hiking trails near by like the Aspen trail we visited, this is a must do if you are in the area! It's just so beautiful! 😊

Love this place, my eight year old rode here twice this year and ended up in the trees after recent snow storms this week. Came from Wisconsin for your snow and hill.

Bonnie Leggo — Google review

This place was awesome. The ticketing process was easy, and the ski, boot, helmet, and locker rental was very convenient. Instructors were nice, patient and encouraging. Loved our visit.

Steven & Tracey Jiles — Google review

An awesome experience standing at 11,500 feet. The weather was perfect, sunny, with no clouds. The temperature up in the mountain was 31 degrees but it felt like it was 60 degrees. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Klaudia Zamarron — Google review

Only a two and a half hour drive from Scottsdale. Lots of fun runs and not typically super packed. Only gripe is that gondola is closed when it is even slightly windy.
