A large lovely park, mixed terrain with some gentle slopes and mixed planting. Lots of mature trees, including many beautiful horse chestnuts.Nice lake with ducks and swans, and a small skate park.
South Park is a nice park to go for a walk around after visiting the Palace, very popular with dog walkers, a few items to check out and well maintained.
A large public space for people to visit in the southern part of Macclesfield. It has a few sporting facilities such as crown green bowling, tennis courts and a skate park, but it attracts some ASBO types who have nothing to do.It can be relaxing in sunny daylight, but it's less so in other conditions.I remember when we went one time to feed ducks and we overheard a mum of one of the teenagers screaming at this boy who had been doing things that shouldn't be happening at that age. Sort of sums up the place really.

Know before you go
- Visit on sunny days for a more relaxing experience as it may be less enjoyable in other conditions
- Be cautious around the skate park due to occasional vandalism; avoid broken glass
- Keep dogs on leash as some off-leash dogs can be unfriendly; watch out for dog etiquette
- Check out the charming cafe 'food truck' in the car park offering good coffee and food

It offers a mix of open spaces, shady areas, a lovely lake with ducks and swans, sporting facilities like tennis courts and a skate park. Visitors can enjoy the pond area with a central fountain but should be cautious near the skate park due to occasional vandalism.
